Why is it so hard to eat while you're on stimulants?

^ My friend's dad tokes with us all the time. He even lets him buy and sell weed himself. He's not going anywhere in life though... he's just a big toker and smoker and uses other drugs sometimes to help him cope with his poorness, and his parents just let him.

If you do stimulants regularly the lack of appetite disappears pretty quickly, still feels yucky to eat but your hungry so just force it down cos you know its gonna make the recovery 100x easier.

I find eating to be not hard at all , it actually makes eating something I don't think about though. So I won't snack on junk food and crap. I use to feel like I couldn't eat anything but after doing it for awhile you get use to it.

I'll make a protein shake with a bunch of healthy stuff and eat that for a meal.

drink lots of water too.

I drink like those ensure shakes a few times a day if I can when I'm spun. I think someone called it "chewing on a wad of paper towels" in another thread. Yeah thats about what its like no matter what you try to eat.

I've never had a serious problem using dexedrine and eating. Sure i may cut down to two meals a day but anyone can tell when their blood sugar is all fucked up and they feel like garbage.

Your getting it all wrong.. Yes I'm aware it was wrong, and it was a short lived meth use.
I love my kids with all my heart and I realized it was wrong.. Thats why I went to rehab.. We are very close and I'm not going to jeopardize that..
And while I was in there they also learned how bad it is..
I don't hide anything from my boys and while in rehab they learned alot..
I think it was good for them. Now there 16 and still involved in sports and the Navy sea cadets.. They know the dangers of drugs. Infact we talk openly about it all the time..
I also know for a fact that they don't use either..So in all I Think it was a good leason for all of us..
But thanks for caring..

Always good to hear such success stories! Also great to hear that you loved your kids enough to give up and keep yourself clean, and to take care of yourself!:):)

PS, seen your avatar though, I wonder whether you have been clean for their sake as you say!

You're body is in a sort of "fight or flight mode" so the blood is pumping more to the vital organs and muscles and the bodies function is less focused on being able to digest food and the like. That is what I have always been lead to believe anyway, same as when your adrenaline is pumping and you have no appetite.
