Why is it no longer possible to delete comments in PMs?

There's several I'd like to delete for personal reasons ; either I was putting shit badly OR I just wanna nullify the entire damn conversation I started inadvertently with some blazing arsehole.

Thinking back, I don't recall ever deleting a pm. So maybe it was never a possibility.
