Why is hydrocodone cut with mannitol

I've managed to find some powdered hydrocodone, but it's cut with mannitol which I believe is a diuretic, can someone tell me why, and how safe is it to IV.

Your names mannitol lmao prob because its cheap. Its a great laxative. Eat a bunch of mannitol from sugar free foods and youll be pooping like crazy

It's not safe to inject hydrocodone even if its 99.9% pure. Ive heard hydrocodone causes a dangerous histamine release when injected that is possibly life threatening unlike most opiates that will just cause pins and needles or some itching when injected.

If you're worried about what might be in your drugs, don't use them period. Better safe than sorry.
