Why is hash so rare?

Kayenta's right. Afghani (3 grades) is common in the Arabian Gulf region and some Morroc even gets ashore occassionally - but its oh so tedious day-in and day-out compared to kick-ass bud. Hash production is an age-old business here. Moving bulk across borders in this region is far easier and much more profitable for traffickers than trying to compress and transport bricks or bales of bud that the local market is just not interested in. They simply don't get the attraction to unprocessed bud and will rarely consume it if Hash is around. Quite the reverse is so in Oz where hash is as rare as rocking horse shit and bud (bushpig and hydro) is everywhere. The local Hash I have tried was pure barf compared to the real deal. Methods of Hash production (hot and cold pressed) are well know but labour intensive and take a SHIT-LOAD of raw material to process for not a lot of end-product.
My advice: save your pocket-money and visit our Dutch bretheren where you can have the very best of both worlds.

used to be able to get hash oil at the dispensaries, but they banned it :(

as for hash, just gotta know the right people & i think living in a major city helps. i know it's all over in chicago

you could try to make it but it's hard to make good hash & not worth it unless you have lbs / tons of weed lying around

Completely 100% disagree

if u start out with good bud u will end up with good hash.

most hash making techniques are not hard at all.

and as far as what makes it 'worth it' is a matter of personal opinion

I used to buy 8ths of good bud, i would then run n 8th through my stainless steal turkey baster BHO tube (can find these at any bed bath n beyond store)

do a little BHO research, figure out what ur doin (again, not hard)

i would run 3.5grams of dank and i would return .6-.8 of some of the most potent oil i have ever had and once u get a decent oil smokin rig/set-up, that .6-.8 will last just as long as that 8th woulda
 
make your own, i have an ounce of some danky full melt right now some sour diesel
and some stuff from the collective called "pure kush x heandband" it looks like brownie
but hash you just have to look, took me awhile to find some good psychedelics but i looked and found, don't be lazy.
 
Does anyone remember the talk back in the Overgrow days of doing an iso extraction on full melt bubble hash? They were getting around 99% THC levels.
 
Ive found it depends mainly on where you are and if you or a friend actually knows who grows some buds they buy or not. Normal dealers just seem not to want it, mainly I'd assume because bud is a lot easier to sell and easier to smoke for regular people, combined with the weed it takes to make good hash and people not understanding how much better hash is than weed and not wanting to pay for what looks like so little and you get things like they are.
 
I think the main reason hash is a bit more difficult to find in the states is because of our culture. in particular the fact that here in America we really like to smoke bud even tho hash is awesome. And perhaps that people typically prefer to buy pot as opposed to hash just i case they are gonna get ripped off which in turn leads to less demand for hash and when there is less demand there is little need for a supply. which sucks because we all love hash. and bud...
