    Welcome Guest!

Why is electronica absolutely incredible

I think there is something to be said for the 'nasty' factor that seems to be a pretty big part of electronic music. You might know what I'm talking about. This factor is amplified a hundred fold when rolling, but you know when you hear a beat or a section in a song that is just IMPOSSIBLY perfect, like it is just the funkiest, most groovin ass shit you have EVER heard. And you make that face like "oh fuuuuckkkk".

I concur. On acid or MDMA, the DJ drops something on you like a surprise, and it's nasty, moving feels so incredible... that's what it's all about!

Not to thread hyjack, but I dont think its worth its own thread and relevant to this. I just started E, what CD should I get to hear on my peak? Hypnotica?

My opinions...
1. Fuck trance. No matter how many drugs I take, it still doesn't soound good. And sober, it's just awful.
2. Not all EDM is fluffy, light, nice sounding shit. My favorite type of music to roll to would be gabber. It's so fucking intense and makes me so happy even though the music is so angry. I have been known to be rolling my face off while screaming "Fuck you; rest in hell you motherfucker!" along to my favorite song. Have a listen... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ud0ZQsRiXDU

I listen to harcore only, pretty much all types from happy/UK hardcore to terrorcore/gabber type shit. Reason, it's fast, strong, and filled with amazing heavy basslines. It leaves me with no choice but to fucking dance. And angry music while rolling is really fun, especially to scream along with.

I like some gabber as well. Speaking of which, I'm seeing Angerfist on the 27th of this month. Although I'm not a huge fan, it's absolutely intense under the influence, and fun to dance to sober or not.

Ahhh, I heard that party was kinda sketchy. Didn't they say Evil Activities was gonna be there too but then EA was like "hell no, they can't afford us." I'd love to see Angerfist Live PA. I saw Endymion last month which was amazing. And yes, gabber I can dance to sober as fuck and love it. But I can also dance to it rolled out of my mind and love it.

If anybody fancies a bit of laid - back, downtempo house music i'd highly reccomend Nick Warren's Global Underground 30: Paris. Great cd, can't get enough of it recently, fantastic for chilling out, coming down and mellowing out ;)

The crew throwing the party (I'm assuming there's no name throwing permitted on these boards) have always been really cool with me, and have never thrown a bunk party.

The funny thing about hardcore parties is it resembles something like the dynamics between "scene kids" and "hipsters" (I wholly realize this is a hasty generalization). They'll show up at the same shows, but hate each other and stand on opposite sides of the dance floor.

Of course, it's less extreme than this, as most are under the influence of something. Alas, the gabbernauts have a hard time cooperating with the kandy kids. By midnight, the tensions have eased and they're both chewing their faces off together.

You should go, it's hilarious. The more bluelighters the better :D
