Why is drug use a thing of males!?

Plus go to any NA meeting it's pretty even between the amount of males and females.

As for women and internet message boards i think it's like females and gambling, you see lot's of females of all ages playing slot machines but in ten plus years of betting on sports and horse racing i would have been lucky to seen 5 females placing bets on sports or horse racing. I'm not sure why women just have different interests to men. i'm sure there are fashion blogs that are exclusively filled with female contributors. Also women are a lot more cliquey about who they share information with on line so discussing drugs on bluelight may not be an interest for most but obviously not all females.

Really? I've noticed the NA meetings (in my area, anyway) usually have more men than women.
There's still women, though. Don't get me wrong..
I'd say an average meeting is 60% men 40% women... maybe 70/30. It just depends.

I am a female and I personally discovered forums such as these years ago, from Google.. I frequently browsed forums, years before I made an account.
Even when I did make my account, I barely posted until just a few months ago. I'm not sure why.

Also so weird that someone said their co-ed was equal between men and women.
When I went to treatment, there were a sad number of 8-10 girls out of the 40 to 50 of us
Just goes to show how random it is.

I do feel many people have a misconception that men use more than women. IMO it's because women (as another poster also said) tend to be more subdued and coy about it. Just know they certainly aren't rare!! Personally, I know about as many male addicts as I do female. It's a toss up.

& I think there's a lot of reasons BL and other forums are populated with more men than women. A lot of people already stated them.
It sorta makes sense. Topics are abstract and just more rough-around-the-edges.
Miscellaneous threads, generally speaking, are largely written by men, and are therefore relatable to mainly men... Thus, website's male appeal!!
Men might also be more likely to post something embarrassing/personal. Women tend to carry more shame or guilt for their substance abuse/behaviors, mainly due to society stigmas..
For example, I recently read a very interesting thread that I related to. I wanted to reply, but held back, because it involved an experience I didn't know I wanted online. Ultimately, I was afraid of looking bad.

OK last thing.. If it's true women don't research drugs as much as men statistically, could it be because females don't NEED to research, because they use with someone who already has the experience/knowledge? (Usually a boyfriend or s/o)
Just a thought, because many females are introduced to the drug scene by their s/o. I was.
(not blaming, just my observation) ....anyway, I don't think I searched the web until he and I broke up. I was clueless without him.
