Why is Cannabis illegal

Studies have shown that cannabis is non harmful and its addiction potential is extremely low compared to many other substances. So why is it illegal? Prison is BIG bussiness in america. Most prisons are ran by private corporations to make massive amounts of profit, the US incarcerates more of its citzens then any other country including the combined total of russia china and north korea. Majority of all criminals are in prison for drug violations and many of those are for violating cannabis laws. Prison is big business and many high profile criminals are in private prisons where they are no longer the responsibilty of the government

damn it i was watching family guy the other night the pot one where Brian gets it legalized something about big paper company's not wanting hemp to take over as one of the main reasons . that and the governments of the rock do not want us expanding our minds with free will

Yeah This is no new news. We all know the reason's cannabis was prohibited was for political reasons and had nothing to do with our safety.

Plus there have been WAYYYYYY too many threads popping up about legality and cannabis. CD is not a place to discuss legality...please keep legal discussions to regional forums.
