why has my normal dose of heroin making me feel nauseous

since Monday i have been getting really nauseous from heroin. Im not a new user and i have a tolerance. but i kicked for a couple of days, then i started up again on Monday. And at the end of the day i started to get a bad stomach ache then i threw up. Yesterday i also had bad nausea and threw up again. Today i used a small amount and still nauseous, why is this? Im not doing bigger doses than usual. Can it be the batch, or something else?

No idea on the Opana, but I imagine either a cut in the heroin is bothering you OR the quality is better than normal OR your tolerance went down and the quality is better, so it's making you feel more nauseated.


Are you feeling more high or anything? Nodding a lot more?

Even if you have a good connect, you got to remember there is no quality control and there could be a number of different cuts in there.

Id ssay your tolerance dropped just enough where you would get sick when starting on the smack again. I have stopped taking morphine, dilaudid, etc for a few days and have started up again with the same dose and for a few days i get way higher then usual.

Gotta be something in the gear cos you said about the nausea. Maybe cut we something that don't agree with u .

This happens to me periodically with opiates, and it seems to have something to do with an overload of histamine, as it always happens when my allergies are at their worst. Symptoms for me are similar to those of an allergy-induced nausea (dizziness, shoulder/neck aches, upset stomach, etc.) which is the same feeling I get from eating the wrong foods during the wrong season. It's also totally preventable by taking a Claritin 45 minutes before dosing, so I know it's related to allergies for me.

Most likely, it has something to do with varying purity or tolerance in your case. Maybe try a smaller dose and see if the nausea is still present...if it's not, I'd put my money on tolerance as the cause.

this happens to me sometimes as well, a histamine reaction is likely. with an opioid histamine reaction though, there should be some other affects.
when this does happen to me, i figure its just my body rejecting the substance, telling me that it doesnt agree with the chemichal, or that there is more then it can handle, sensing danger and trying to get it out the only ways it can; a minor literal overdose, or volatile intolerance to a 'perceived pathogen'; vomiting, diarrhea, profusely sweating, salivating excessively, chills etc.

if you experience delerium, hysteria, confusion, and other physical sideeffects, this could be an anaphylactic reaction. some have predispositions to developing such an allergic reaction to a food/(bio) chemical. i doubt this is the case for you, but is nice to be aware.

cotton fever gets pretty awful too, is likely, but ongoing and more violent. from what ive heard anyway.

I have had cotten fever twice in all the time ive used drugs via IV and i got it twice in the one fucking day . I got it from using tap water that was not boiled for long enough and looked dirty as fuck. OMG cotton fever is beyond horrible and can last from a few hours in my case to a few days. I only had it for maybe 6 hours then i got it again later on that day! I was shaking so much that i couldnt hold a drink to my mouth without spilling half of it, i thought i was going to have a seizure i was shaking so much, my muscle actually hurt from it and no matter how many clothes and blankets i put on myself i could not get warm. My g/f was there thankfully and she brought me water and cranberry juice to help keep my hydrated and flush the stuff out. This is maybe why i only got it for a few hours as opposed to a few days like some people i know. I chugged down as much water and cranberry juice as i could as well as hot tea to warm me up abit. Nothing seemed to help though and i didnt feel the shot at all or the oral morphine i took when i had the cotton fever. Why i didnt feel the morphine i have no idea but it seems common not to feel the opiate at all after getting cotton fever.

Basically cotton fever is a dirty shot and comes from injecting solutions with bacteria in it i think. You would know if you had cotton fever because i don't think too many people feel like that regularly

I have only ever smoked black tar heroin, and it does have a very pungent taste, like soy sauce, vinegar and old BBQ, but I never once had a problem with the taste (although a few times I did wash my mouth out with water after the sour was sticking to my teeth.) I have never thrown up because of the taste, it perplexes me that a lot of people puke just having the taste on their palate (it does stick tho, I will agree with that.)

On the subject of nausea, I get nausea after I smoke it sometimes and just have to pass out to rid myself of the feeling, though I have never thrown up on/after heroin use so those who do probably shouldn't pass out because of the choking/vomitting tendency. I usually get the most nausea when I start coming down but I'm still a little high, and sometimes if I smoke too much for my tolerance the blurry-ish vision the high gives me is the biggest contributor to the nausea (when I close my eyes, it goes away). I don't know what causes it, sometimes even if I just smoke a little I get nauseous but sometimes I can smoke a large amount for my tolerance and not feel any nausea until I come down.

If the "normal" dose is doing this then the quality of you supply has increased.. I would consider cutting your dose to adjust.
