Why don't I find AMT very psychedelic?

Having been experimenting with this stuff recently, I found that it's only vaguely psychedelic.

Visually the most I can manage is some dots and trails at high doses and a slight shift in depth perception. It can get pretty mind-fucking as you get higher, but generally it feels more like MDMA at a low dose. I've tried it orally and smoking, in different settings. I've tried on my own, in a club environment (worked pretty well), and with someone close.

Is there any way I can help bring out the psychedelic side more?

Maybe try it in a combination. I've always had great effects combining 5-MeO-DMT with it. If AMT isn't "psychedelic" for you, then perhaps just try other substances instead of pushing it.

Yeh, I think there's something there though, a potential. I really enjoy the stuff too...

I always found it the other way around. Very visual, little mind fuck. What range are you dosing?

I don't hate the word psychedelic, but I do think it's so vague and broad-ranging as to be almost useless and it gets hijacked to mean "brightly coloured visuals", you can go to an art gallery and get brightly coloured visuals.

Anyway, I found a higher dose to be more "brightly coloured visuals" but also gives greater mental clarity together with the involuntary manifestation of unconscious knowledge in the conscious mind, expressed in actual visions, realisations and verbal thought trains.

Back when I used to take AMT (friend had some) we considered it kind of a 'trip lite'. It certainly makes you trip but I never found it to be visual like lsd or shrooms.

It would last a long time, and often make me puke on the come up. I found it had interesting effects on linguistics (seemed easier to come up with high quality lyrics).

We liked it alot but I wouldn't take it expecting massive psychedelia, I'd take a different drug for that... I'd take AMT to experience AMT in its uniqueness.

and as far as what we did on it to enjoy the experience, if this helps -

we hung out in a house that my freinds parents were selling at the time, so no one was living inside it. We set up computers and video games, and we rhymed over beats and made videos and told stories / wrote and recited poetry and hung out and smoked weed and had chicks over. We took AMT there probably about 3 or 4 different times at least.

I think, expanding on what I said before, it impacted our creativity in some positive sense... it probably made us a little more giddy too and gave us trippy AMT energy.
