Why doesn't marijuana ever feel as trippy as when you first smoke it?

I miss the intensity and vividness that I used to experience when I was 14. I miss everything looking brighter and hearing notes in music I never noticed before. Now it just makes me feel good and sometimes makes things funny.

Is it a placebo effect? Or do your cannabinoid receptors get a slight permanent tolerance?

Tolerance and/or familiarity. Stop smoking for several months and then take a hefty bong-rip of a potent sativa. Have you tried edibles?

No not yet, but I heard edibles are a completely different and more intense high. I was wanting to make firecrackers soon because they're so easy and take less weed than brownies. Are firecrackers as good as brownies?

Firecrackers are fun. If you have a vaporizer you can also use your vaped left overs to make Firecrackers with.

The best way, imo, is to make a oily solution with something like butter or olive oil, and then use that as you normally would. There is also decarbing and such to consider. The forums at grasscity are probably a better resource than bluelight for edibles. They have tons of recipes and guides.

And yeah, edibles from vape-poo are interesting. The high cbd:thc ratio can be something completely different.

My first high on anything was always the best. I regularly take sabatticals from weed to lower the tolerance and get some motivation back.

I still get experiences like that but i don't smoke on a regular basis. Maybe like twice a week

The resin builds up on the receptors. It's hard to feel a little bit more resin than when your brain is clean. I think it's like any medication, it builds up and your body is not so shocked by it.

Weed never felt particularly trippy/crazy feeling to me! Even the first time I smoked and really got it into my system, it was a great feeling, but it was never what I've seen other people experience their first time smoking. I know this is probably bullshit, but I've always wondered if it was because I robotripped heavily before I ever smoked weed. Now those were some fucking weird/crazy/trippy times.

That's straight up bullshit

It's not placebo, I no longer get as high as when I was a teenager either. But I also smoke alot more. So tolerance is kept at a much higher level all the time. When I was a teenager I could not afford to smoke 50g / month.
