why does weed make you a deep thinker ?

I think marijuana lowers my neurotic way of thinking. It's like a barrier that's been lifted to allow clearer thoughts to come in. Then again it can also make you hazy. It depends on the person. Some people smoke and watching cartoons for hours while others use the high to propel themselves through a workout.

I over-analyze everything on weed and Idk about you guys but I may speak more oddly but as far as thought goes it definitely increases the speed at which stuff comes into my head.

why this happens, idk probably something to do with brain receptors, never really cared to look into it tbh because there's a lot of stuff in life you dont have to know how it works to enjoy.

I can build a computer for someone and not know how any of the parts work on a binary level but as long as the thing starts up right?

this is a prime example of thoughts that make sense in my head but are hard to explain

Well, cannabis increases the presence of norepinephrine and dopamine in the brain, which would make thinking more rapid. It's also why I get weed hangovers and feel like crap if I smoke a lot.

My dad suffers the exact same ^^^ And is why he refrains from toking with me at parties a lot of the time, as he suffers a far worse hangover from smoking weed than he does from just having a drink ..

Are the dysphoric experiences of many people using weed merely a by-product of hysteria man experiences once he finds that his endless will to truth merely obscures the nature of his damned conscience and resulting susceptibility to guilt (which all stems from the mental and physical confines of societal rules)? Thus, weed reveals the true nature of our consciousness in such individuals.

Probably =D

can i getta freud-five up in this bitch?

but seriously i'd say thats the case for me, weed takes me halfway and i feel stuck, psychs teach me what you just said and the anxiety is useful once understood as part of that process. At least far more often than cannabis does. Though i've never thought of it like that, or considered the idea.

Mabey i'm not getting high enough :D

Studies have shown increased activity in the prefrontal cortex (the "thinking" parts of the brain) when under the influence of cannabis [1]. This is what is responsible for the "time warp" (where a great deal of time has passed when indeed very little has) and also mildly revelatory experiences. Put simply, you are thinking faster, and your mind can make leaps that it ordinarily might not attempt.

Salutations BlueDot,

...your mind can make leaps that it ordinarily might not attempt.

The sort of study i'd wish to see would at least attempt to compare personal cannabic experiences in terms of pre-existing conditions (e.g. background). Cannabis may be a fuzzy-logic promoter capable of revealing/amplifying mood waves, whatever, but i'm a living person first, not only a set of symptoms resulting from consumption of an illegal substance. So, in my opinion dame Marie-Jeane just might fail turning into artists some guy types with very little imagination who'd readily enjoy "Couch-Locks" like a bear hibernating in winter...

Most of the time i'll only expect to find whichever i bring in, so i can play bear today and yet prefer cloud-chasing tomorrow, etc.

Sometimes it's more feelings than thoughts (and/or vice-versa!). It essentially depends on my mood among other factors, i suppose.

Too bad i can't read all of those fine books as this would most possibly enhance my day even more, in any case!

=D

It does not. It just breaks down the usual sanity check's and non-sense filters in your cognitive processes, rendering you lacking critical thinking skills and less likely to use solid logic.

Salutations Egzoset,

Salutations BlueDot,

Just curious, how exactly does one "play bear?"

Highest regards,

Ha! Ha! Well, i'd imagine myself going single minded while seeking a cozy shelter where to settle, preferably with some food around, having cable TV available or just some nice music to promote relaxation leading to deep sleep.

=D

Actually, juxtaposed with the couch-lock quote it makes perfect sense. I was picturing you in an Adventure Time hat goin' all Winnie the Pooh up a tree to get at a beehive.

Hi again Jibult,

I was picturing you in an Adventure Time hat goin' all Winnie the Pooh up a tree to get at a beehive.

That would be work but i do like the beehive part a lot!!

Though what sort of teddy bear would want to incinerate his precious honney? I've got to wonder!...
