Benzos Why does taking Diazepam make me stimmed instead of down/sleepy ?

Hi everyone.

I am trying to cut down my weed usage so today I went to my GP and I asked him for a script of Diazepam.
He gave it to me, as soon as I got home, I swallowed 30mg Diaz and gone pick up one gram of mids (I smoke a few grams a day).
I wanted to keep it to one joint tonight as I thought the Diaz would help me sleep.
Since Itook the Diaz, I cleaned my whole flat, washed all the clothes I had to do, done all the shit I had to get done.
It is now 5am (got Diaz at 6pm) and I don't feel slightly tired.
I have now gone through 3 grams of weeds and I still not feel sleepy.
Also I had mad hunger.

I must say that this weekend I IVed 5g 3-MMC, stopped saturday, had a quiet day sunday and today I was feeling great apart a few brain zaps at the end of the day, so I don't think this is related.

Can anyone explain me what the fuck ? :p

Hey Youpi,

I hate to give you a simplistic answer but from personal and anecdotal experience (i.e., from relatives and friends), different people experience drugs differently. For example, I was prescribed Xanax for anxiety and it didn't effect me AT ALL. I might as well have drunk a glass of water (and I have low tolerance for most drugs). However, I can take .25 of Klonopin and while it does cut the anxiety, I am super tired the rest of the day. When I take 1 Benadryl, that's it for the rest of the day for me--time for bed. However, when my m-i-law takes it, she gets wired like a meth head (and doesn't shut up :))
Of course it could be the chemical reaction between the weed (which is not out of your system) and the diazepam but since I received a D in chem I'm not even going to attempt to try & make that connection.
You might just need a different benzo.

being free from stress and anxiety the benzo gives you probably makes you more motivated about doing stuff

i know this is the deal for me, at not-blackout doses i am way more motivated to do stuff while on benzos and they never make me feel tired/sleepy. coincidentally clonazepam also makes me mad hungry and my friend's mother who i'm intimate enough to discuss benzo habits also says it happens to her
