"why does only loperamide cause excess urination?"

all other opiates tend to make you pee less (and poop less), yet there are many, many reports of loperamide causing excessive urination and dehydration. yes it definitely constipates, but why the excess urination and dehydration?

it does wonders for withdrawal its unbelievable, but i myself find myself going to the bathroom every 10 minutes sometimes, and no matter how much water i drink my eyes/mouth are dry and i just cant retain water! what the fuck?!

the only theory i have is that the extreme constipation causes an excess of electrolytes to diffuse into the blood. this would promote urination with high K/Na i suppose.

I find this to be true about the frequent urination also. At large doses for WD my urine also has a greenish tint (from the dye I suspect).

My theory is Lope just doesn't affect urination while in WD. Because when I'm in WD I urinate like twice an hour, that doesn't change if I take Lope but if I took any other opiate it would.

Lope DEFINITELY affects your pissing while you are withdrawing. I seriously always have to piss a lot when I take it and i don't have a problem pissing on it like i do with heroin and opanas and shit. My piss is always clear too, like I've been chugging water but I haven't. I never noticed the dry mouth but I usually drink enough fluids anyways.

It does do wonders with the withdrawing though that is for damn sure. Anybody that is not a believer in it either hasn't tried it or didn't take enough. I just think of all those times i was withdrawing and going through all that needless pain when my solution was sitting on the pill aisle in every pharmacy or grocery store. I just don't understand why it is not more well known. Seems that anyone with experience with opiates and withdrawing should know about it but few do.

Of course the constipation sucks with it and it feels like your shitting out golf balls but I would rather be constipated than withdrawing. It is a huge blocker though for other opiates and takes a couple days at least to get it off your receptors. Its weird because it blocks opiates similar to how bupe does. Sometimes i feel like i would rather have lope over suboxone. Just because it doesnt put you in a prec withdraw like subutex and suboxone will do. If i know Ive just done the last of my dope for a few days, I can pop some lope before i go to bed and still be high and and I wont wake up sick in the morning. I remember I woke up once and I thought i was dope sick enough to shoot some subutex. Bad decision, went into prec withdraw and it was soooo bad. It was probably the worst and one of the most intense drug experiences Ive ever had. And it lasted for like 2 or 3 days it seemed.

But yeah Lope is lifesaver for real. No reason to sit around sick. It doesnt make me feel 100%(because usually I'm coming off some pretty serious binges of at least a half gram to two grams of heroin a day or 3-5 opana 40s) but it does take away at least 80% of the withdraws.

A little big of anatomy/physiology (just in case :) ) - in your brain your nervous system can be broke down into groups and then subgroups. Two of these subgroups are called the Sympathetic Nervous System - this generally deals with what's called the THREE F's - fight, flight and, err, "making love".

One of the other ones, which you're interested in here is the Parasympathetic Nervous System - this deals with "rest and digest". So, when you're trying to sleep at night, it's you're PNS kicking in making it happens. Now there's aren't just opioid receptors in the brain, they're a few places in the body, one of them being in the Gut/GI track!

So as you said, most opiates cause constipation since what's happening is those opioid receptors in the gut are being "fire", which when those kinda receptors are in the cut, and they get activated, that's the end result!

The only two other possibilities I could think of (especially since I don't work in addiction) is that firstly (and especially if this has always happened to you) from human to human there exists a thing called "bio-variability" so a drug might work one way for you, and yet another way for another.

Or lastly, addiction affects the body (obviously depending on the drug and that too but) a many, many ways other then you take a drug and ya get ya high! Again, also depends on the extent of the addiction - diarrhoea, nausea, hypo/hyper-tension, hot/cold sweats, list goes on!

Good luck though man! Keep with it!

Its the truth SUB SHOOTER (unfortunately) hey!?

Lupe is pretty good! Not quite sure where you guys are but less then Lupe, in Australia we use Bupe. more.

Do just keep in your mind though that if the Lupe isn't working for you there are alternatives! :)

Good luck fellas

The increase in urinating I can't put my finger on thought! Obviously even harder without meeting you personally.
