Why does my subutex not work anymore?

I've been taking subutex for years now for heroin addiction, 4MG of subutex in the morning and 4MG at night, and it isn't giving me the relief it used to. I keep taking it because of a placebo effect I think and of course dependence. I'm going to see my doctor in a week or so, but until then what are my options in the future and what can I maybe expect from my doctor. Trying to get a feel of whether maybe more subutex would work or a different drug. THANKS!

I'm taking the same dosage now. I used to take 1-2 mg/day, but bumped it up looking for more mu-opioid activity. Not worth bumping it up. I'd suggest trying rhodiola rosea. Mild maoi, so you will have to watch your intake of caffeine and other amines (no stronger stimulants when you are taking it regularly, even if it's just 1 day, don't combine stims with it), as well as diet (tho diet has never been a problem for me, everyone is different). This will increase the euphoric effects which has certainly helped me from desiring something stronger. The apaptogenic effects ( a la ginseng) are great for helping your body cope with the daily stresses of life.
