I'm just curious as to whether this can be backed by information or science, or is it just some weird placebo effect I experience? Maybe some of you experience this as well? I've looked on the internet and can't find anything

Eating food should allow a person to starting feeling less high on cannabis though i don't know the science behind it this is how it just works. I think it takes your mind off the high and focused into the different senses all at once.

It would affect not only the subjective high, but eating also allows physiological changes in the body - so there is that component to consider.

Also, this would be highly variable depending upon what drug we're discussing, but any drug taken orally, eating food could cause the drug to absorb less efficiently into the bloodstream through the stomach and intestinal walls.

Thanks for your responses! I'm gonna do like 200-400ug of LSD today for some introspection as I have some questions about myself/I'm dealing with a lot of PTSD flashbacks. I'll be sure to write a trip report!

In my experience if I eat a big meal then smoke I get really high. But if i smoke and then eat i come down. I can’t explain the science of it but it makes sense in my mind.

Showers make me feel more stoned. Eating doesn't seem to affect my high but I smoke all fucking day so I guess I wouldn't notice and would just assume I needed to smoke more anyway cause I was coming down or something.

My father claims eating kills his high with absolute certainty. Claims he is "munching away his buzz" lol.

It's good to know I'm not alone in this lol

I always wait at least 1 1/2 hours after I smoke to eat because yes, I feel like the show is over after I eat and it is sleep time. So I for sure factor in that food will bring me down. I never mentioned this so it is cool seeing a thread stating the very same thing. :) Sometimes if I know I am having a reall good meal I will smoke just for the meal to
enjoy. But other than that I associate food with the end of the high.

Everyone I know experiences this with cannabis. I thought most people knew better than to eat directly after consuming cannabis? I don't have a source to back this up but I've heard smoking cannabis lowers your blood sugar (or simulates low blood sugar). I believe it because the few times I've crashed from low blood sugar were right after smoking. I did it just recently and a small snack+soda sorted me right now. I think this has only happened to me when I've neglected to eat for most of the day. I recall one time things got very trippy with full on CEVs. Wasn't very pleasant since I was also fighting not to pass out due to the blood sugar crash.

After 23 years smoking Cannabis there is no munchies anymore. Better so. :)

Eating makes me less high and I’m ok with that. If I want to get high(er) again, I smoke more. Sometimes that leads to more hunger and sometimes not. Disaster is when you follow up a smoking high by chowing down on an edible.

maybe it has somthin to do with the surge of dopamine you get from eatin. dopamine and serotonin I think. Since marijuana make the effects much stronger it effectively overloads and shuts down the recepters that thc had juicing and qu33fing
