So i know its not a placebo, everytime i take 5-htp when im not feelin too motivated, happy, etc. it always gives me a boost of "life is good" type of feelings in quite a noticable way. Alot of times ill forget i even took the 5-htp. But it always wears off quite fast, like within a few hours. Why is this?

Why does 5-htp only work for a few hours

When I took it the night after MDMA use I too noticed feelings of slight elation soon after, I only took it because it was recommended on rollsafe too, I hadn't even researched it at that point so wasn't expecting anything to happen. I took it with ECCG if that makes a difference. It just kinda perked me up a bit, had me there moving my head to the music and really getting into what I was listening to despite having it on all day before with no such reaction.
Don't know how long it lasted because I went to bed soon after, took it 3 nights running then stopped. Thinking back the slight mood elevation happened at least twice that I can remember.
Maybe it was placebo, I don't remember reading about it though. Wasn't anything drastic either way.
