Why do you write?

I write to understand. I choose to try and understand complex things.
Or at least, things that seem complex to me. Also, to have a record I
was alive no matter how pitiful and embarrassing it may be in 10 years.

When I write, there is nothing else I could even conceive of doing. When I'm not writing, I'm assailed with doubts; with a pen in my hand, the world comes to some kind of sense.

I used to write as a form of release or to express ideas I had no other way of expressing....most of the time these days if I was to be honest, I only write to try and not lose my writing skills. I don't really have a great compulsion to write a lot of the time anymore, and when I do have that compulsion I don't really have the discipline to see it through seriously...
