Why do you hate marijuana?

It seems like the majority of marijuana-haters hate marijuana because of the anxiety, or paranoia (one and the same?).

Your reasons?

Mine would just be that I hate the high - makes you feel uncomfortable, not any noticeable euphoria. I look at it the same way I look at duster. But it has nothing to do with anxiety or paranoia.
 
There's really no euphoria. It's also kinda trashy, and I hate the culture (Phish, Grateful Dead, ect.). The coke culture is ten times cooler, like David Bowie and various disco artists, ABBA, KC and the Sunshine Band, ect.

yeah, that coke culture - it sure does rule. with all the pretentious hipsters who talk about themselves and their oh-so-innovative fashions, philosophies, and artistic talents we foolish stoners can't even imagine.

I pity your naive outlook. Phish, Grateful Dead, Bob Marley and whatever staple artists are common in stoner circles couldn't hold a match to Bowie, Clapton, or other various cokeheads. Jambands in general are utter shit. Plus, being around burnt out hippies isn't fun at all, honestly, I'd rather not hear about saving trees and how evil capitalism is.
 
I don't like weed because the high is only good for 60 minutes, then I need to smoke another. It makes me uncreative & lazy, and smoke is bad for the lungs.

And when I smoke like 3 joints one evening, it takes me a couple of days before my head feels completely normal again.

Every style of music has good music. I think you are the one who's being naive, just because some style of music you don't like you say it sucks.
Same with saving trees and capitalism, try not to speak about things you don't know about mate. A real cokehead would have punched me in the face now for expressing my opinion, so I'm lucky I am safe behind my computer screen =D

Yeah, seriously, I completely am just tired with weed, but coke is so trashy and Thatcherite. What are you, stuck in the 80s? Go run a stock market, cokehead.
 
eh, there is way too much hype around marijuana. I have been smoking for about 4 years, on and off. I get paranoid when I smoke marijuana and i get anxiety sometimes. It also makes me feel weird and makes me not care about the shit that I need to care about.
 
Hm, maybe it's cause I've only been smoking for a year and a half now, but I still love weed and still can't find anything wrong with it. It doesn't cause me anxiety or paranoia, or any other negative side effects that would make me want to stop.

Until then, I'm going to keep blazing.
 
I've just become disillusioned with the "do-nothingness" it inspires in me. I used to love it, and it's still great if I have nothing to do, but rarely is that the case. It was a great intro for me into psychoactives, but now I just can't bear the lethargy. I'm apathetic enough, y'know?
 
pot really doesnt need to be an every day thing i think,at least curb the usage to like 3 times a week....to me at least,i used to smoke it everyday and i hated the laziness and the constant forgetfullness and the fact that i didnt feel like myself if i hadnt smoked a bowl that morning....i do love pot it just doesnt need to be abused like it mostly is.....it can be a wonderful life affirming thing if used correctly....i do love a nice bong hit of some ubernuggz tho :)

These are only music groups that make it well known they are potheads. There are scores of bands out there that smoke pot regularly and you'd never know it, from Cradle of Filth (in fact the bass guitarist got kicked out for smoking too much) to A Perfect Circle.

Of course, they might also be partaking in coke.

Why not a battle of the drug-groups? Heroin music certainly has some great stuff, ranging from Velvet Underground to Tool. This could go on forever...

I must agree with you on the large part though, I don't like reggae at all and Grateful Dead never caught my interest.

And what stoner bands talk about saving trees and evil capitalism? Did you know that many left-wing people & politicians actually approached Bob Dylan, asking him if he would represent them, speak for them, come to their protests, issue a statement, et cetera? And he declined? I do not mean to make a blanket statement, but many champion Bob Dylan as almost sort of a leader of the whole liberal-hippie (specific, not just hippie) movement - yet he has never made any political statements.

I find that you are all high and weird for about 2 minutes, and then for the rest of the day you are completely burnt out. Smoking more does nothing. Kinda like crack, except you have a miserable comedown that lasts all day.

Haha yea really. I don't care if people like weed; that is their 'cup of tea'. But the whole "Lets smoke together in our Peace Circle" is a complete joke.

I'm somewhat suprised from the responses. Most people seemed to have said they are just tired of the marijuana high.

Of people I know who hate marijuana in real life, almost all of them say it is because of the anxiety. That, or they found heroin.
 
Ha, heroin is the drug that I have the most awe/repulision relationship with. One half of me is so utterly desperate to try it, and the other is like "what are you, stupid? You don't wanna get started on the junk!". Sigh, one day I'll decide...

EDIT: Also, I've found that weed usually eases my social anxiety, so that I can stop being a dick in front of people, but totally ups my anxiety of other stuff, like "what the fuck am I doing with my life?" or "shit, the cops, the cops!". The main reason I've gone off weed really just is that I don't like the high anymore, especially since I've increased my use of pharms.
 
I hate weed because of the cloudy, "stuck" mindset it puts me in, but this is nice occassionally when I'm not trying to do anything but veg-out.
 
i hate being burnt out all day and the fact that i get really quite when i smoke. i mean i like to smoke weed sometimes on like a wednesday night by myself or a couple other peopel but on the weekends, no its not that fun at all.

I don't hate it, but I dislike it. I don't know why, but it dries me out like crazy. I know cotton-mouth is common, but it's incredibly bad for me if I smoke to get high. No problems with taking a few hits off a bong or whatever when with friends, but I can't use it recreationally.

Great, now I'm thinking that Pro-Test is about the illegal drugs issue, and not just the kick-ass breakdancing video thing.
 
Despite the fact that I have very high anxiety, weed never seemed to increase it.

The reason weed as a drug never really appealed to me is because the high is very, very unpredictable. Plus, I hate smoking things. However, I still respect weed - I've had spectacular spiritual experiences with it.

Now, stoner culture, thats just annoying.

Speaking of battling of drug cultures... Heroin culture 0wns j00! plzthxoknuffsaid. ;).
