Misc Why do ssris almost completely get rid of delirium hallucinations in dph like narcan for deliriants

I have a long history with dph and despite having access to much safer drugs i like it anyway, but when i started taking ssris (100mg sertraline) it straight up blocks all confusion and delirium from dph almost like doing narcan on a heavy opioid high. Its gotten to the point where pretty much every night i take 1.5-2grams just to feel the basic effects like visual glitching and auditory hallucinations, whereas before ssris i would wander my house naked and not even realise it on 700mg. Just to mock how weak this shit is for me now, i go to school off 1.5 grams and i still remain coherent and alert enough that no one suspects a thing. i have gotten 50 pounds heavier from before ssris to now but i dont think that would make that drastic of a change

Although when i was just climbing the dosages of ssris and i was on 25mg of sertraline i would have mild hallucinations of 800mg

Also its not tolerance because i havent touched this stuff in a long while and am only now getting back into it

Hm....interesting questions. SSRI's are blocking many types of drugs. In my case they actually induced complete mindfuck when i stopped taking my atypicals mirtazapine and vortioxetine which is atypical ssri and serotonine modulator. Quitting them made me..it put me on edge of psychosis or something. I head noise and voices and it was really stressfull.
But little bit of chlirprothixen put en end to it. Benzos were useles in this case.

Now i take benzos only as needed ( like now ) and i somehow substituted painkillers by low dose antipsychotic as needed and benzos on top to prevent nasty side affects of antipsychotic. Just low dose but still, i quit my epilepsy meds and i don't want to seize from chlorprothixen...

I have idea why it erased some parts of high dose diphenhydramine effects.
Some SSri's can result in more acetylcholine, vortioxetine is one that is eapecially effective in doing so and this can ( maybe ) reduce anticholinergic dph induced effects.
Other idea is that dph is also somehow serotonergic but ssri's sometimes stop serotonergic effects of other substances. Probably both of these i mentioned and metabolism affected by your antidepressant could play a huge role of how u feel other meds. But I want to read other responses, it's quite interesting
