Why do so many people not find xanax recreational?

Everytime my friends come together and do xanax, usually we have a great time. our usual dosage is 2 - 5 MG's, we may not remember everything but from what i do remember we were all extremely dissociated and finding a lot of joy in little things and we laughed so much at our stupidity. Ive read peoples comments saying how they dont understand how they can see any possibility of recreation. but not too many people talking about how recreational it can be. What are your thoughts on its recreational possibilities?
 
Well, I guess I wouldn't say that Benzodiazepines are "not recreational". I think what a lot of people mean is that there are substances that are a lot more recreational. Benzodiazepines generally do not induce euphoria in the same way Opioids would. I think that for people who have issues with anxiety, just having relief from said anxiety can be a euphoric experience in itself. Also, I think the fact that you're chilling with your friends and having a good time is the primary experience and I can see how taking some Alprazolam might loosen you up and have a good time.

To me, Benzodiazepines aren't recreational at all. They just numb me emotionally and physically without any truly enjoyable recreational effects. Everyone is different though!
 
I 100% find them recreational. They give me so much energy and make everything I do so fucking fun. Essentially they are my stimulant (in the non-conventional sense) of choice. I know that might sound weird, but they stimulate me with none of the negative physical or mental side effects. A nice easy way of doing stuff.

I thinj that a lot of people possibly seek a greater high, or just feel sleepy off them. Just to clarify, benzos never make me sleepy, no matter the dose (unless I'm on stimulants etc and it's time for bed; then they do their intended job).
 
I don't find them recreational by themselves because even if they feel nice the effect is kind of subtle unless I take a "high" dose. Plus I usually feel more anxious on the day after.
And if I ever take them a couple times a week they tend to give me rebound symptoms which are just not worth it.

Not weird at all. For a long time, an injection of Heroin was my stimulant as weird as that sounds.
 
They're only good for stimulant/hallucinogen comedowns IMO.

If I take them while sober they'll make me feel like shit mentally/emotionally
 
I agree with you OP xanax or benzos in general are my DOC. I have everyday anxiety issues so maybe that's why i love them. But my day is perfect if i get that txt saying they have klonopin or xanax for sale.
 
I took a benzo with my Heroin yesterday and it increased the H euphoria. I don't know how it would work alone, though.

On their own, I don't consider them recreational. However, if given a suitable context -- coming down from a stimulant; a high-stress situation; or combined with something like an opiate/opioid -- and I could safely call them recreational. On their own I find them boring, albeit conducive for relaxation.

100% agree. I would also add withdrawal to the list. A few mgs of Etizolam and I feel just about normal.
 
I can only speak for myself, but I have never found Xanax to have the recreational effects that some ppl mentioned above. They do take the edge off of weed (I do get overly anxious sometimes when I smoke), but that's about it. Even when mixed with alcohol... nothing. Well except for not remembering what happened the day before and possible shame accompanying it when your friends and family piece together your night for you.


Xanax on its own does nothing for me. Clonazepam is a different story. Those feel pretty good even on their own.

Bluelight really is quite an amazing place. It really sheds some light on the diversity in human physiology that exists out there.
 
I frequently enjoy benzos. I wouldn't describe them as euphoric. I just feel better, a great mood lift and an easy way to relax. Also great for comedowns and withdrawals. I'm usually fairly aware of my tolerance and how much I can take, the only time I'll really black out these days is if I'm far too depressed and don't care.
 
I don't find xanax very recreational. I still wound up overusing it and having a very unpleasant withdrawal from them, I never touch them anymore. They aren't recreational enough. But my problem is more depression rather than anxiety. So that's probably why I can stay away from benzos if I want but have a serious problem with heroin.
 
Xanax kills any high I might have from any drug, so that a shitty thing right there. Also if I take it on its own it pretty much just lowers my IQ by 30 points and makes me a zombie, or makes me blackout, either way not recreational at all.

Some ppl just have drugs effect them differently, like I love tramadol and get pretty high from it but I've heard a lot of ppl don't get shit from it.
 
Well low doses benzos I dont find recreational, but xananx like 5mg is already pretty good, I have high tolerance for benzos becasue usign them on and off 10 years, so 5mg dont cause blackout for me.
 
Before I got on Opiates or any other drugs for that matter I would take a Xanax here and there to sleep at night, and the next day I could not get going and just felt like shit, then I got hurt in a car accident found a pain DR got on methadone and roxi's for breakthrough pain and now I love taking Xanax with them...I know it's very dangerous and I am cautious, but I cant find a dr that will give them to me because of the other shit I am taking, and I understand that I guess. but I still have a very hard time finding them on the street..but jeez when I do it is pure bliss...also the tolerance is a bitch!
 
If I can stay awake it can be recreational but I use it as a tool to sleep.i can take .5mg and it knocks me the hell out still.i o lay take it a few times a year..the one time I took it and had to stay up I woke up parked in my yard outta gas..dangerous
