I mean besides for the fact that i think its just pretty fucked up...why do people do it?? i understand the whole thing with bypassing the liver and what not, but wouldn't you be better off just snorting ur pills?? i pretty much stick to heroin and oxymorphone (opana). i remember ppl saying, oh man, you should plug ur opana, its better than snorting it. upon further research, i found that plugging has the same bioavailability as oral (~10% ). i know that some drugs, such a oxycodone, have a higher bioavailability when taken orally vs insufflation; but i have never heard of a drug that has a higher bioavailability when plugged vs oral/insufflation. so for all u pluggers out there....why?? what drugs are better/stronger when taken up the poop shoot, compared to when taken orally/insufflated.

I have never heard of a drug that has a higher bioavailability when plugged vs oral/insufflation.

Both morphine and hydromorphone have a higher b/a when plugged than when taken orally or insufflated. I do not enjoy the act of plugging either but when I was still using opiates and wanted to get the most out of them it was only a minor inconvenience. Dilaudid actually gave me a small rush when plugged.

Plugging allows for a generally higher bioavailability of most substances. More of the substance absorbed into the bloodstream. It also generally allows bypassing the hepatic portal, the system of blood vessels that transfer substances that are ingested through the liver into the bloodstream. Absorption via the hepatic portal allows for first pass metabolism. Plugging eliminates first pass, further increasing active amounts of said substance in the bloodstream. Next to IV, plugging is often the best way to introduce a substance into the body in terms of amount absorbed and circulated.

HAHA!

I've only plugged a few times, you're right...there's practically no point, but sometimes its an option I guess. Only reason I did it was because the dilaudid I had seriously fucked up my nose and I couldnt breathe, and my tolerance was too high to pop it, so I plugged it, and it got me feelin really, really, really good. This isn;t true for all opiates, but dilaudid kicks ass (literally) when its done like that.

Now plugging isn't an option for me because Im kinda constipated and yeah, its a waste. But I don't have that hydromorph-contin anymore anyways, so I dont really care. And I don't miss it for damn sure.

Qft, with some drugs like dillies and morphine the oral and nasal BA (not so much with dillies) is shit so plugging is the next best thing if you don't wanna fuck with the needle. For needle users I guess it's poitless but for many drugs its simply the next most efficient method and gives a better rush than snorting IME. With oxy anyone who snorts it is simply wasting product, oral would be the next best thing but plugging gives a better rush than oral. As for the "childhood issues" lame attempt at a joke, as long as your comfortable with your sexuality and your not using a turkey baster sized syringe its a mere 10 second inconvinece and can provide up to 2x efficiency in the case of morphine. Opioids aren't fuckin cheap, I'm willing to take the minor sacrifice to save product but that's just me. Do I enjoy it, no... but IMO its still worth not getting into the needle while still being frugul on product. Also snorting pills sucks IMO, too much painfull binders and the occasional APAP, just seems to clog my nose more than anything. Also what I love about plugging is that its just as effective with a full stomach, I hate starving myself to get the most outta my doses and plugging puts an end to that.

^ haha, he's talking about opiates... not MDMA. Pretty big difference :\

Most of the time I'd say it isn't worth it, opiates are usually pretty damn effective orally at the right dose. It can give a pretty damn good rush though, especially with a time released drug like the OP oxycontin.

Lol omg I read pills just gonna delete that there and wallow in my small fortress of music and monitors.

And proceed into my own opiate fortress lol 420 ~~~~~ashamed&baked

I have found with MDMA and heroin, the rush you get with plugging is faster than snorting, and slower than IV, it's inbetween, some may even prefer it, since its a longer lasting (but weaker feeling) rush of like 10 minutes instead of a 30 second IV rush

Plugging is awesome! High bioavailability! Quick onset! No vein or nostril damage! Fuck yeah, plugging!

It's totally worth it but a lot of people are just put off by the whole thing ...Which is understandable, there are lots of valid reasons humans are wired to have aversions to that area. And if you are uncomfortable with even the idea of it, chances are you aren't going to have the knowledge and patience to do it correctly.

It takes some motivation to spend the time to learn and develop a good technique. But once you master it, it becomes a quick, easy and highly effective method of administration.

I think sticking a needle in your arm takes a fair degree of conscious break down of inhibitions for most people...If more people could see past that initial squeamishness involved with plugging, maybe they can save themselves some serious lifelong damage.

Just my $0.02 ?

higher bioavailibility for some drugs, faster onset time, less irritation to nasal mucosa, no needles.
