My beleive is that the pefect hang over cure has always been there that I have just recently discovered it. Only if I knew these things back in my drinking days I would have had plenty more days not waisted on the couch feeling sorry for myself and watching tv and drinking water all day. I Think that even though this might not be the best for your body, first thing you do when you wake up hung over in the morning and let out that not this again groan...you strategically place depending if you have a tolerance or not 10 to 30 mg of roxicodone. If you don't have those then take p10/325 1 to 2 of them. Then go back to bed for a little nap. 20 minutes later you wake up feeling much better and the worst part of the hang over is over. then you need to drink some water atleast 2 full glasses go for a little walk to get your body moving again. If you have them a couple hours later redose. Some people say xanax helps them, I have never found that to be true, you need a pain killer to numb the stupidity of you repeadily saying lastnight ok.....i'll stay for one more!! what are your thoughts on this?
(this is by no means medical advice!! do not attempt this)

this is more of a blog then an HR related question; your post is a comparison between drugs, not really a question. i would gladly answer your question, but im not really sure what you are asking. this is just a guide to feel good..

Don't get drunk and you won't have to worry about a hangover.
An ounce a prevention is better than a pound of cure. (whatever that old saying is)

I expect this is gonna get closed but in response to the question in the title, people say that because more often than not they don't have such easy access to strong opiates ;)
Or want to use them for hangovers for that matter.

Using opioids for a hangover is a terrible idea, and doesn't actually address the underlying issues of a hangover. Getting hydrated, taking vitamin b complex, and eating healthy are things that I've found the best for such a thing.

I'm sorry pal but there's no harm reduction in recommending opioids for a hangover. If you really want something that will wipe out any trace of an alcohol hangover, drop 300-400 milligrams of gabapentin and you'll be golden IME. It's been discussed a here and there on several forums.

Also a quote from a study:
In the present study, systemic gabapentin injection dose-dependently blocked the anxiogenic-like effects associated with “hangover” following acute administration of a high ethanol dose
