Why do people like Ketamine?

Everyone with a reasonable taste is horrified by pineapple on pizza. Ask an italien.

It may also be a regional thing - see, I wouldn't even know where to find an Information Technology alien to ask about it.

As others have suggested, the amount used can make a big difference to the overall flavour of the experience. Start with lower amounts and give your brain and mind some time to become familiar with its effects. Initial experiences can feel too confusing to be enjoyable. It can also be exhausting for your mind to try harder to make sense of things, and until you can let go and trust enough, this may also lead to unpleasant feelings as the cognitive system that is your brain is trying to make sense of these scrambled signals and hold onto your usual perception.

I'm talking about pineapple on pizza here, of course, but it could probably apply to ketamine as well.

first time i did half of what i had, got ripped to shreds and felt bewildered. awed and visuals were like passing windows depicting different shit at high speed. then i asked if I could stay... no.

bumped the rest of the bag just to make sure I wasn't confused regarding realities.
down I went. this time creation. i was forming galaxies and slowly started the rotation of them. very delicate work. 😁

As I will repeat until the end of time - or until I die I guess, lol - Ketamine and other dissociatives generally are not very much not, in fact, OUTSIDE drugs, even though people quite keep trying to make them so. They are very much INSIDE drugs. people get themselves into all kinds of avoidable, crazy, or just very unfortunate situations by blithely overlooking this obvious fact. IMHO

I remember when I first got into dissos. I would think, "wow, what strange drug. Not sure if I liked it."

Later on in my life I became quite addicted to ketamine, after methoxetamine became unavailable. My use got out of control, when I started using over 1g per day I knew I had an issue.

My last cute little binge I went through 4g in 2 days. I no longer enjoyed it at that point. It started making me feel sick. I would get "withdrawals" when I stopped (felt more like a severe nutrient imbalance, but my anxiety levels were off the charts).

My point is in the end I went back to my original opinion, "This is a weird drug I don't like."

But man... once you put on big boy shorts and do K hole doses... K is quite the treat. Smaller doses can be awkward and unenjoyable...

But yeah dissos are a supremely weird class of drug. For sure.

I found MXE to be almost infinitely more enjoyable, interesting, and flexible that ket. It was almost immensely psychologically addictive despite their being no phyiscal dependence with it (like with with opiates, alcoho, benzos, etc).

Dissos are indeed a weird class of drug, and not all substances in that class are built the same. Different doses have a profound effect of the experience you get from these drugs.
