Why do many meth addicts wear sunglasses & listen to music/talk to themselves

As a past recreational meth user, i have felt some of the most amazing euphoric feeling but also the most depressing shitty, irritated, muscle weakness etc feeling ever. Needless to say i spent a lot of the time fascinated with the drug and stuff like the hallucinations that sometimes seemed interesting and real, although i knew and looked up a lot of information about the drug, and know a little bit about the topic of the thread, I just wanted to get someone else's opinion who preferably knows what i'm talking about, or even better has personal experience. I have known many people addicted to meth in the past, however i wasn't really friends with any of them.

One of the things i really noticed was my co worker a beautiful light skinned mexican girl (im gay, shes a lesbian/bi) She was addicted to meth, but as we grew closer at work she still never admitted if she was on it or not, but sometimes you could tell she wasn't because she walked with no energy. And other times she talked a lot. She also never admitted a lot of the side effects she was experiencing but something she and all the other tweakers i've known do this:

1) Listen to music a lot, for some reason it seemed like they didn't like silence and sometimes would talk quietly to themselves. Whats the reason for the constant music listening?

2) Wearing sunglasses whenever possible even in the dark at night. This is something i've seen even more common with tweakers, do they have night vision or something? And why do they wear sunglasses a lot even if their eyes are not dilated?

1) Because music on amphetamines is fucking awesome. It's another experience. I never went out without earphones in when I was addicted to amp (dl-, not meth), now my ipod is barely used anymore. I listen to music at home and with friends, but I don't need it all the time, can't have music on CONSTANTLY personally, it feels like overloads my brains after a while, haha. But on amps? I had music in 24/7, and not normal music but ALWAYS ~150bpm on average music of a really weird branchoff from hardstyle/core that had some good tunes, but drives me crazy after 1 song when sober.

2) I'd guess because the eyes, even if pupils aren't dilated (which is very odd if u say at night & on meth), can be a dead giveaway for some symptoms induced by the meth. I've noticed hardcore tweaker sometimes have trouble with eye-contact, nervousness becomes easier to read. I personally never did this, and my pupils were always huge as fuck and my eyes opened up far wider than usual. Sunglasses are 10x more suspicious at night. At festivals I do this too, because litterally everyone is wearing one to minimize the shock for sober people I guess. Everyone on a Belgian festival is on MDMA btw. I haven't been to a festival yet where the weather wasn't superb, which is why I actually got sunglasses when i was there, and I just kept em on me at all times.
 
Well the Sunglasses are probably for two reasons, one, cause shit gets really really bright due to the pupil dilation, to the point of sunlight reflecting of dull secondary surfaces being able to blind you and cause stabbing pain for a few seconds, if your not careful.

Secondly, to hide the pupil dilation from nearby spies. At night and no dilation seems odd, however its entirely possible they are simply paranoid about they eyes anyway even if they are not effected. Just to be safe. Or they simply think it looks cool due to the meth induced delusions of grandeur.

Music on stims is amazing. Rem meth euphoria is a stimulus/reward based high. You only feel good when your doing something, else it cant work, technically. Music on meth like your favorite songs can be so rewarding it can cause wave after wave of rush like euphoria by itself sometimes beyond what even another decent dose might cause.
 
I wore sunglasses because I had floaters in my eye's and I was consumed with looking good. Even tho my body looked like crap from binging every weekend for half a year......It caught up with me and I went over the edge. And I mean the scariest crap I have ever experienced and it was in two jails...
 
Never heard of any of that, but i'd guess that they wear sunglasses to hide their overly wide, dilated, bloodshot eyes. The earphones thing is probably because silence makes them paranoid or something like that. Or they just like listening to music at all times when theyre high.
 
I do both and I've never done meth before lol

I would say sun glasses from being sketched out about lookin spun.
And music is prolly nice on meth. I k ow I enjoy it on about everything else.
I'm always rappin to myself.
 
I wear sunglasses like everywhere, on or off amps. Usually shade 3 welding goggles actually, my eyes are very sensitive to light. I even wear shade 5 welding goggles if I have to drive towards the sun on a bright day. I also listen to a lot high BPM electronic all the time, on or off amps.

The only thing I reliably notice, is I tend to increase the tempo of my music in DSP filtering an extra 30% on amps 8o
 
Yeah i found some old messages on my facebook about the conversation i had with my friend a few years ago, who was hooked on meth. (only not messed up meth-head i ran into). I guess she said, that she and a lot of other meth addicts (atleast the ones i've been around):

1) Listen to music a lot, because they hear voices from being awake for so long and it helps to block out the voices and because she said music sounds very loud and dreamy when you've been sleep deprived on meth.

2) She said the reason on sunglasses was because many people addicted to meth see the "shadow people", usually do to being awake so many days and she said the sunglasses block out from having to see them much especially in the dark (hence i've seen many meth addicts wearing the glasses at night), she also said when you have been up for more than a few days everything becomes extremely bright to the point where it hurts your eyes a lot.

What she said makes sense when i think about it.
 
Music is good, IMO if tweaking dance music is best. Kinda matches your heart rate (the bpm). I personally love drum and bass when on meth but love it just as much when I'm not. The sunglasses are because having dilated pupils sometimes light can hurt. I guess cos if your pupils are dilated they are much more sensitive to light.
 
well, took me 3 days before i relised my mp3 player didn't have any batteries becaused i had used them with my camp/head/lamp, the music was coming from abunch of adds some idiot'ly purpsously left open to trip me out.

as for the shades, fuck man round here, if ur eyes r shot then u gosta get the shades.its a fucking must.

works 4 many.
