Why do I react this way to stimulants?

When I was 11, I took Adderall and it made me depressed. Whenever I read about other people taking Adderall and other stimulants, they feel the total opposite. The reason this is so important to me is because whenever I read about their experiences, I feel an instant connection, because when they were on stimulants, they felt the exact same way as me when I have a manic episode, and it makes me so nostalgic. I want to feel like that again so badly.

Do you think Adderall made me depressed because I took it when I was manic? Or do you think it was caused by some other condition I have? (I also have an anxiety disorder, ADHD, and am on the spectrum)

Any thoughts/advice are appreciated.

Prescription drugs for me has always been something i would be willing to try but avoid usages. I dont want to say all but scientifically most drugs especially prescription work with the brain differently then others especially others with different brain functions or mental health and disorders i have severe depression , anxiety , PTSD and the list gos on and on SWIM has tried Adderall non prescribed did not feel much could have been the amount SWIM was on. When was the last time you took Adderall and have you ever took anything close to it or prescribed other stimulants? And if so how did they effect you? And do you mean it make you depressed while you where on it or that it like messed you up so hard you feel depressed because of it (Im sorry if that question was weird i was up all night.) Its not un-common for some people to take stimulants such as Adderall and felt depressed instead of the desired results in my area and especially in High School Adderall is a big thing a good amount of the area has at least tried them 3-5 times and i have heard of people in my area not getting the desired results and instead feeling down and somewhat lazy while on it. I definitely would not say feeling this way from it is un-common at least from my experience.

You're on the autism spectrum? Same here and stimulants effect me in the same way. They make me dysphoric. Much more so in low doses, higher doses counteract the dysphoria but amplify side effects like insomnia. I mentioned some remedies for the dysphoria on your other thread. The serotonin factor also needs to be taken into consideration. You might have low monoamine levels so when you boost dopamine levels, it suppresses the little serotonin activity that you have. Taking 5-HTP might help but I never found it to help. Have you tried MDMA? IME that gives me all the benefits of stimulants without the dysphoria.
