Why do I not have a tolerance to some ADHD meds when I take similar ones??

I take vyvanse. Took some dexedrine along with the vyvanse and super surprised that it actually affected me? My tolerance is usually pretty high.. And I haven't been on any big breaks. Is it just the new medicine?

Will I be effected well by Adderall IR/XR? I am so confused because I did a lot of research on the amphetamines in vyvanse and dexedrine and they are similar so not complaining (happy bout this) but I am feeling it a lot, how is this, with my tolerance being so high?

It's going to compliment the drug if you took them together. If you take the dex alone, it may well have a decreased effect due to tolerance. What sort of doses do you normally take, and what doses did you take when you combine?

usually take 280 mg of vyvanse max of 350 mg at once since i have such a high tolerance (this has been building up for months don't take this much ANYONE drugs effect people differently!!) Took 210 mg of vyvanse + 45 mg of dexedrine (i have no idea how much dex your supposed to take). I took MORE vyvanse a few days before like 280mg at once but I felt nothing.. and now I take less but add dex on top and it works?

vyvanse is metabolized to dextroamphetamine, which is what exerts its effect. I would think they would affect you in the same way for an equipotent dose.

You are probably noticing a difference due to the added amount from taking the dex with it.

You've mixed two stimulants together. That's what's happening.

It's not that you don't have a tolerance. You DO have a tolerance. That dosage would kill some people or at least send them to the emergency room.

You've been warned multiple times about creating multiple threads that are asking the same question. As we've told you before, Vyvanse is metabolized into dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine).

I'm going to close this thread because we've discussed the topic at hand at least four or five times in the past week or so.

I don't know how seriously you're going to take this but I'm going to say it anyway. I've been taking amphetamines for a long time now. Vyvanse is metabolized into Dexedrine. To your body, they are the same drug. 280mg of Vyvanse and 45mg of Dexedrine is a very high dose and taking that high of a dose on a regular basis is going to cause you some serious problems, the least of which will be your tolerance. Seriously man. Take it easy with the high doses of amphetamines.
