8ohey guys I hope I posted this question in the right place as this is about an issue I have the day after taking adderall. I know the title sounds pretty stupid LOL so let me explain. I am a relatively healthy 24 year old young man with no major health issues that I know of. I'm 6'0 155lbs. I do smoke cigs.

I take my evening dose of addy 20mgIR around 3pm and I go to bed around 12am or so. When I go to bed I am usually pretty damn tired and coming off of my dose so I really have no problems falling asleep. I go to sleep but when I wake up the next day after about 7 hours of sleep, to be blunt. I look like shit8o. I have dark circles under my eyes, I am pale, and everyone asks me wtf is wrong with you dude you look tired as hell?? Lol. However I feel like I got sleep at least i don't wake up extremely tired or anything.

To make a long story short I have to take like 3 days off of the meds and then the dark circles under my eyes and the paleness seem to slowly start fading away. I can honestly say I look pretty darn good after a few days off. I know this isn't some type of cumulative effect of the med because I have only been on it like 3 months!! I just do not understand this?? Maybe if I didn't sleep on it or something but i do!!:!

Does any1 else experience this?? Does adderall like suck the nutrients that makes your skin glow from your body or something?? or does it keep you from going into that deep REM sleep that your body needs and you don't even know it?? Any help on this issue would be awesome thanks guys:)

amphetamines are toxic and using them daily runs your body down. take a break and you will recover faster. also caffeine will help with the circles under your eyes. It doesn't fix the root cause, just masks it.

What about the basics? Are you sure that Adderall hasn't affected how much you normally drink and eat? It usually does and it also drys out your body. So if you're not drinking and eating as much as usual you lose weight quickly which can causes that discoloration as well. Plus with the dehydrating qualities of amphetamine on your tail you have to drink even more water than usual, so if you aren't keeping up with your "usual" and compensating for dehydration(and usually nobody ever can) than Adderall changes your appearance.

Your peers will just have to get the hell over it and mind their own business or find some way to live with your new appearance.

you are most likely dehydrated--it's a side effect of the medicine. the cigs probably aren't helping much with the discoloration either. but all of this has an easy fix--drink more water. keep a bottle of water at your desk or wherever you'll remember to drink it.

also try taking a multivitamin. and another good thing to do, which may seem silly, but will work as an instant fix--after you wake up, rinse your face with warm water and then cool water. you can also take a clean, wet washcloth and gently exfoliate your face, to get the blood flowing and color to return. dab a tiny bit of lotion under your eyes and pat it in (make sure it's non-comedogenic if you're acne prone). you can use a special eye creme but i find regular, no-frills lotion works just as well (and is a lot cheaper.) use something like lubriderm, not some fancy tropical scented thing...after that, you should look refreshed. if you're really bad off, you can put a cool washcloth folded over your eyes for a few minutes.

keep your sodium intake low as well, and don't forget to drink plenty of water.

i'm not sure how it affects the quality of your sleep, but i've always wondered that as well.
