why do I have to wait?

I know therei s a massive megathread on suboxone but i thought this was a rather basic question. Anyways last night is did about 60 mg of oxy and between that and 120 mg the past 3 months per day. Anyways i saved a half a 15 mg roxi 7.5 mg just to try and have something to stave off the WDs this morning. Well i slept like crap and was having that restless hands/ leg thing this morning and they were driving me insane so i tooted the last 7.5 mg's and felt better, not completely better but was able to fall back asleep. if now its 2pm and my last tiny bit of opiate was at 6, eight hours ago and feel the pins in my hands and feet am yawning and sneezing and have no no no energy why do i have to wait 24 hrs to take the suboxone i have?

any reply's greatly appreciated.

Yes, you should wait 24 hours. 8 hours is too quick, even if your last dose was low. When switching from Methadone to Suboxone from a very low dose I needed to wait 48 hours but that is because I was taking a long acting opiate.

i have a valium but havent taken a benzo in two yrs and thats because i went thru benzo wd hell and still get it today but i may break down

One benzo should not push you over the edge and should help you until you can take your suboxone.. Good luck

If you already have the valium, what better time to use it than now? Just take it tonight to help you sleep and hold you over until your full 24hrs is up. Then make sure to NOT dose the valium again if it's such a big issue for you. I don't think it'll throw you way back or anything. Obviously though, if you don't feel right about it - don't do it. However, then you're just going to have to deal with the w/d's.

I would not advise that, if he has a history of benzo abuse and still feels withdrawals today then he should probably just avoid taking the Valium.

Honestly when i had my OXY habbit it was around 120MG per day as well..... 2MG of suboxone killed my WD's and urges..... However i took the suboxone as soon ass i started to feel the RLS and mild WD's.... This was about 12 hours after i stopped the OXY. So its diff for some people but im pretty sure you can take the suboxone when you feel the onset of WD's.
