Opioids why do 4 vicodin 5/500 not feel anything like 2 10/500 ?????

i hate the 5/500 vicodin, they're damn worthless, i just don't understand why.

why do 4 5/500 vicodin not feel like 2 10's. whatever 10's really - 10/325, 10/650, 10/500, etc. a serving of 10s or 7.5s hydrocodones, however much the amount may be, is extremely euphoric to me and almost identical to an oxycodone high. it does not matter how many 5/500s i take, cold water extracted or not, i can't get any type of euphoria or good feeling out of em.

why is that ?? i just don't friggin get it....... am i the only one? lol

They should feel the same unless they are ridiculously old or something...

there is a little more fillers to deal with... try splitting the vic 5/500s in quarters when you take them, and definitely make sure your on an empty stomach. Should feel identical.

i've tried all that already a zillion times in the course of the last 10 years. tried extracting them, chewing em up, splitting em, almost always on an empty stomach. they don't do nothing to me. 2 - 3 10mg vicodin make me feel very good, even 6 - 10 5/500s dont do nothing but cause a little nausea, it's rather unpleasant

I would say .. just stick to the 10 mg pills then! haha..

I have a preferrence with the brand of xanax I take.. so I stick to that..

Too much Tylenol can upset the stomach. That could be it. Brand is always a factor in some people's eyes too.

As the above poster said I too have a preferred Xanax brand. Not sure why but that's how it works...

Im not sure how but you must be overlooking something. 20mg of hydrocodone is 20mg of hydrocodone. You can take 1 20mg pill, 2 10mg pills, 20 1mg pills, 10 2mg pills etc. It is what it is. ( <-- those preps are fictional )

How much trial and error has been performed to lead you to this conclusion?

I'm uncertain about differences between Hydros, but I also notice differences with different brands/strengths of Xanax. I have a preferred brand.

Not sure if its placebo or not since its anecdotal and not a pattern at my pharmacy...

I've noticed through research that benzos seem to be extremely sensitive to placebo scenarios. I've actually taken something i believed to be a benzo that was entirely a benign otc drug, and I actually felt the benzo effects 100%. This would absolutely never happen with an opiate.

Another thing is that Xanax has a patent on the synthesis of aplrazolam. Therefore, any other company that makes it is going to have to use a slightly different synth which would explain slight effects differences, but end result is still the same clinical strength, but because molar mass and dosage might not be perfectly lined up the generics could very well be weaker.

The synthesis for hydrocodone is public domain i believe.

binders/fillers from different manufacturers can have a pretty significant impact on how hydrocodone feels in your body. the amount of apap in the pills also will cause the hydrocodone to feel differently, because taking 2 5/500 doubles the dose of tylenol over 1 10/500.

i've been taking hydrocodone for six years now & i definitely have preferences when it comes to what brand i use. i prefer ucb pharma or watson. i like 10/325 or 10/500 the most because i know for my body the less apap i take, the better i feel & the better it is on my body. you should always be CWE if you're planning on taking more than 1g of apap at a time or more than 4g of apap in a day... you will be causing serious damage to your liver if you don't.
