Hey Guys!

I'm new to bluelight. I searched around and could not find a thread on "Why people joined bluelight" I think this is an amazing website and a has a lot of unique users with special experiences using drugs or being around drugs and i wanted to know why some reasons you guys decided to join. Other than the fact is awesome!

So i'll start first! I joined bluelight because i believe with the ever growing drug industry mass producing prescription drugs in this age of ours there should be a place to find information. Not just any information But a unique take on the said drugs themselves. Im not talking about a scientist describing the components of the medication but instead a fellow human being who previously was in the same place asking similar question who can give an answer on what a drug does how it can effect you positive and negative feedback so the viewer/ asker can make a better choice when choosing to use drugs. I know when i was using drugs i had questions that went unanswered because i didn't know where to ask them and who i could trust. I have done research around bluelight and one thing that really pops out to me is how little judgement there is I can go ask a question like. Whats the best pill to snort without getting the SNORTING IS BAD FOR YOUR NOSE speech. or if i wanted to know some dank strains i won't get the SMOKING POT KILLS YOU! that random bullshit that you get from those people that just have no fucking clue what they are talking about. I joined bluelight to be part of a community of people that are there to help other people with out judgement. To aid in helping the people of this world who choose to experience this wonderful world of drugs!

I was a lurker for a long time because I always wanted to do some research before using a drug and I often wound up here while doing so. Eventually I joined the forum after my mom found out I was a member on another forum because she checked my pc history & all my skype messages while I was in the shower... :|

She found out everything about my drug use that day and kicked me out. Later things got worked out though but I never wanted to post on the other forum again, since my mom knew my username and all.

Also, bluelight is a way better, friendlier community that doesn't judge people for heavy drug use or addiction (Here these things will get adressed too, but in a polite, non-degrading manner). The old forum I was a member of is very judgmental.

I get a nice natural reward effect (dopamine release) without having to take any chemical.
If there is a topic or question about a substance that I have had experience with I pass on the best advice IME to the OP to make their experience a positive one.
And when a BL member returns and thanks me for the advice it feels good and keeps me coming back to this site to start that process all over again.

My closest friend (at the time) showed it to me briefly the computer.

I went home and found it and started reading the threads. I loved the open discussions of taboo topics. Here I found other people writing MY thoughts and experiences with drugs.

Drugs have always played a major part in my life but I never talked or learned drugs with experienced users. My mom has been taking pain medicine since I was a baby. She got in a car accident and wasn't too mangled but did have surgery on her back. From that moment on, she was hooked on pain meds. She branched out into all sorts of fun drugs. When I was a teenager I liked to take her diazapam, among other pills discussed in other threads.

Also my father was an under cover narcotics agent for LAPD. He always had enormous volumes of full color pictures of all KINDS of substances with the names, a list of common street names, and an adjective packed description of all the possible effects. I used his bathroom often (it was closer to my bedroom) so that was my bathroom reading.

I'm starting out on a career path in pharmacology. I'm considering specializing in chemo but that's totally besides the point.
I am fascinated by pills and powders and how they can completely change one's perspective.

The site has places to be deadly serious and places to be an idiot. There is pretty much everything drug-related here. I fit in well with the knowledgeable/experimental prototype. People are usually smart and don't flame. People from around the world. Moderators allow just enough bullshit usually. Few meaningless threads (that aren't funny)...

I wanted to learn as much about MDMA as possible, and how to be safe. All my google searches landed me here :p. Besides my boyfriend, I don't know many people who are "smart" about drugs (aka research them, test them, etc.) so it is great to share experiences and knowledge and information with the people here!
Then of course, I learned about the gazillion other drugs there are, and now I can't stop learning!
Now I mostly hang out in the SLR forum <3 and browse forums for whatever drugs I'm interested in learning about. There is such a wealth of information here!

Well said. I joined for support and to learn from others in my situation. While we are all unique, our similarities will always exist and I seek to learn. I am not here to judge or be judged but to educated from people like me; people who want a change in life! Thanks...T

Wikipedia and erowid didn't offer enough information. I'm smart, so I like to be informed about drugs and topics pertaining to them. That is all.

i joined because a forum with everyone talking about drugs fascinated me at a time when i was big into drugs. The other drug forums, topix and the like, were just lame compared to bluelight, which is by far teh coolest drug forum out there. Plus i figured i could learn a few things here and there.

I joined bluelight because I was hooked on Oxycodone at the age of 18, and was at the peak of a 150mg a day habit. My mother passed away from lung cancer, forcing me to quit cold turkey as I had to move. I think it was two months I had been clean when I found this website. I was trying to find advice on how to overcome the mental aspects of the addiction. For example I kept finding myself staring at floors and old boxes hoping to find a loose pill hanging around somewhere. It was quite pathetic. Eventually I stayed clean and started doing psychedelics more often such as acid and mushrooms, that's when I started using this site to learn about all kinds of drugs, for the sole purpose of harm reduction.

Drugs fascinate me, I like being educated and informed on what I'm putting into my body, and I like to share my experiences with others.

All the class's of compounds/substances really interest me and i love to learn about all of them, there's damn near a infinite amount of info to learn and this has so far been the best place for me to gain knowledge from people that have had first had accounts and all that, etc. I also like hearing others experience's and sharing mine.

I also love how the site provides excess info to a variety compounds instead of just being high and mighty on just 1 class of compounds, shit bugs me kinda. I also think this site is great for harm reduction, i also think there needs to be more responsible drug users for the amount of people starting to use drugs nowadays, this site will help imo.

Mainly for the superb info. Bluelighters are brilliant. There simply is no better source for the kind of HR bluelight provides that I have come across. Erowid is a distant 2nd.
Plus druggies and ex-druggies are just my kind of people %)

I joined bluelight because I have always kinda ended up here when researching my next cock up in life. It's full of informative members and I wish I'd found it earlier..
Also, there's no swimming or neighbours monkeys here <that pointless shit seriously pisses me off.
