Why did I roll?

I'm on 75 mg effexor and 300 mg wellbutrin every day. Yeah I know, the last thing I should be doing is rolling, but I wanted to experiment anyways.

It's common knowledge you can't roll why taking ssri's (or snri in my case). But is that entirely true? I took probably about 300 mg of mdma or mda and rolled my ass off. Why is this?

I have a couple theories...

My first is that my daily marijuana use is preventing my antidepressants from being metabolized properly in my brain, causing them not to work. Would explain the roll.

Or is it because I've only been taking 75 mg of effexor for a month?

Anyways how much neurotoxicity should I expect after 300 mg? Serotonin reuptaking inhibiting drugs have been found to protect against neurtoxicity.. But I'm sure I will still be messed up for a week or so because of chemical imbalance.

well, for one, 300mg is 3-4x a necessary dose...just about anyone w/o a tolerance will roll their ass off.

also, MDMA affects seratonin. a snri is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor....nothing to do with seratonin

I have a pretty good tolerance to mdma... trust me.

and yes it's an snri... serotonin-norepinepehrine reuptake inhibitor. I believe at low does it's supposed to only effect serotonin, medium does serotonin and norepineprine and high does dopamine too.

I think you have got muddled up a bit.

An ssri will stop you rolling whereas an snri it seems to be hit and miss with some reporting they dont roll while others say they do.

I know this chick who rolled her face off of a half pill, been taking SSRI's for many many years (I confirmed they were SSRI's and not something... similar). Guess that's hit and miss too, sounds pretty rare though.

PS: She smoke a TON of weed too... sounds like she's almost in your boat.

Wobble, thats the first report of anyone being able to roll on an ssri that I have heard. Guess it helps show you can never say never.

Interesting... my doctor always tells me if i smoke weed i won't get any benefit from antidepressants... i wonder if that is the reason.

Hm..why do you think this could be true? Seems like you didn't do any research.

SSRI is "Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor"
SNRI is "Serotonin-Norepinepherine Reuptake Inhibitor"

Effexor acts almost entirely on serotonin reuptake at doses of under 150mg
Wellbutrin is a NDRI (Norepinepherine/Dopamine reuptake inhibitor) and nicotinic antagonist.

Also, I thought it was DRI's not SSRI's that had been shown to reduce MDMA neurotoxicity....
