Why did I only realize the importance of comfortability through cannabis?

No. Really. I've sat on an incredibly uncomfortable chair (with no armrests - that I near-constantly used, as it was my computer's) for about two years and a half, and I only started to be really annoyed with it (so much that I'm absolutely compelled to invest in something better... and optimally be inspired to not procrastinate on its assemblage) relatively recently.

What makes this property? Is it a re-interpretation of the necessity of comfortability, or do we just ignore the discomfort normally?

My old computer chair used to give me chronic backache. It took me a good 18 months to click that it was the shit chair that was causing it. Since i invested around £80 in a proper ergonomic one from Ikea backaches are a thing of the past. Must be the best £80 I've ever spent, considering the amount of use it gets.

^ I had the same thing but with my bed. I only realized after 18 months that my futon bed was what was causing me back pain. Having a good mattress and a good chair makes soooo much of a difference to your comfort and to the health of your back.

Getting high just enhances your sense and makes you more aware of things your brain would normally filter out.

But why would it filter out things that might help you in the long run? Or, could it be that - if there were multiple sources of pain e.g. - cannabis helps sifting through individual ones?

I'm lost...are you saying that your computer chair is more comfortable when stoned? Or less comfortable? Because when I'm high it doesn't really matter where I sit or lay down so much, I can deal with uncomfortable seating.

I think he's saying it's always uncomfortable, he just doesn't give a fuck until he's stoned, and now he's stoned and wondering why he only thinks about comfortability while high instead of worrying about it whilst sober. There's so many layers to stoned thought processes....

Ahh some people do man. It's a weird yet beautiful strain of person that can spring up from any culture at any time..

I lol'ed at the thought of people strains. :)

^ There ARE strains of people man. Why shouldn't there be?

It's just a terminology not normally applied to... you know... things other than weed. At least in my experience... The only other time I hear the word strain is when someone's cooking pasta or they hurt a muscle-- I've never heard anyone say, "Oh, me? African strain hybridized with a 60/40 Navajo/Comanche and then back bred with a little test tube Neanderthal."

It just seems strange to me.

Fuck man, I could, but I wouldn't get shit done in any productive way until I became so acclimated to constantly tripping that I'd wonder, why bother?

My favorite BL quote is one I saw when I first joined: after a while of using drugs too much, being sober can be a trip. I hope people take that as it should be read, I know I certainly adjusted myself over time with that quote in mind.
