why can't you iv hydrocodone?

everything I've read says ypu shouldn't iv hydro. I've never had a prob w/ oxy.(mods sorry bout the repost)what is difference that separate the hydro into being an unhealthy thing to run in ones veins
 
Its because you cant IV tylenol..... just plug it or take it on an empty stomach with a tall glass of Grapefruit juice.....
 
because hydro has the same problems when IV'd like Codeine.
Massive histamine release and fluid buildup in your lungs ;)
And that is something you don't want.

Oxy is a whole different storry...

// where did you come across pure hydro powder anyway? If it's from the streets, i bet it's just crushed pills or the leftovers of a CWE. I doubt it's pure. Even if, you do not want to inject it!

That, and most of the time when people discuss injecting it, they are talking about vicodin, and that brings on a who new set of problems.

If you really had 100% pure (or 99.9%, whichever) hydrocodone, IMing it may work, but I'm not in any position to endorse it.
Its oral bioavailability is high enough that just swallowing it is the best (and safest) option.
 
thanks j-chimpo. no I don't have access to pure hydro just kind of assumed with all of the compounds available that that maybe instead of 15/200 I could request the 15 sans the 200. I see that would be a rather risky quest. guess I'll stick to oxy
 
^ They won't do it. I'm 99% sure that hydrocodone MUST be compounded with some amount of APAP (or similar drug), at least in the US. If not, it would be considered a schedule II drug (but I think that they just won't produce it that way at all).

The thing is, if you were to get that, the pharmacist isn't just going to put 15mg of hydrocodone into a capsule for you, its STILL going to be mixed in with some sort of fillers. Thats just how they do it.

Stick with oxy, you say? There's an easier example to view. Ever seen those oxy IR capsules? The ones that come in 5 or 10mg doses? 5mg is pretty much nothing; its maybe a grain or two of salt. Yet that pill is rather full of powder. Its just crap filler thrown in there to (a) make it easier to fill the pill and (b) hinder the ease of abuse.
