Why cant i take low doses of dxm daily

As if you were a train passing by a station every day, and the machinist can no longer read the signs anymore, ever? ;)

When memantine was mentioned together with low dose DXM use to keep amphetamine tolerance at bay (and possibly other kinds) I was already pretty sceptical. But at recreational doses it's even worse.

A friend of mine absolutely loves this stuff and takes it quite frequently. I have to ask him sometime if he ever notices permanent negative effects from it.

It works for tolerance, at least a little. Its not like it prevents it, it seems to be drilling another hole into my brain that allows me to feel Adderall more, not really stopping tolerance.

It isn't something that I would prefer to use though, and I don't use daily at all after a few days of 30-60mg daily. Not my DoC and I would probably just use it to imitate drunkenness.

Apparently this is one point where we disagree, but IMHO your brain is not meant to be flooded with psychoactive chemicals on a regular basis, unless you have a serious pathological chemical imbalance. There's a reason that your brain has the natural biochemical makeup that it does -- it represents the optimum conditions for daily functioning.

Careful with DXM in particular, though. My trials with the substance seem to reveal a powerful capability of psychological reprogramming, which is something that could easily cause permanent damage if not given due respect.

A number of people have reported seemingly miraculous effects from daily use of NMDA antagonists to lower tolerance for other drugs. DXM is a rather lousy choice for this, as it's pharmacological profile is so messy. See the thread in ADD for more info.

As for taking recreational doses of DXM daily, no, don't do it. It is widely reported to have lasting negative effects.

Shouldn't be taking any drugs every day, especially dissociatives, pharms every day is bad enough, even weed every day has had noticeable repercussions.

^ Hell, I can detect subtle adverse side-effects that last a couple days after getting stoned once. Getting stoned can also have a beneficial effect, if you learn to work with it that way.

Hi!

Sorry,English isnt my native language, this is google translate)

I used 200mg every three days on average for decent period of time. I am familiar with high plateus, but find low plateus more attractive just because you can't notice all effects while lying on the couch with eyes-closed

-social interaction euophoria
-amazing music euphoria
-overwhelming walking/moving euphoria
-communication with strangers as friends, behavior in new places as at home
-strong feeling of friendly mystical powers that will protect you in every possible situation
-non-verbal insights about the world

Negative effects.

Physical
Rebond effect: drowsiness, asthenia, loss of motivation next 2 days.
Continuous series of mircroblasts in brain after three days without drug, until new dosing.

Psychological
This is not the kind of psychological addiction but more like demonic possession.Much has been said about Mescalito, speaking mushrooms etc. I never notice such effects from this substances, but dxm definitely is an entity which replaces your old personality during chronic use. Even if you decide to stop the usage of the drug this entity vividly recalls pleasant moments, insights etc and will find some way to your mind and then to your body. Moments of very dysphoric/delirious/antisexual world view. You can easily trip to the mind of chldren, old man, schizophrenic, chronic alcoholic, glue sniffer etc. But this insights rather psychotic than psychedelic. Dxm is definitely most powerfull psychotropic substance known. Offcource salvia gives more strong minfuck and meth addiction is stronger than dxm habbit. This is powerfull because it 'moves' your soul in actual way. Dxm reprograms your subconscious and blurs the boundaries between autonomous parts of your consciosness.

If I had known this before first use,I would have tossed a coin to try or not dxm..

Did you see the Wikipedia link earlier in this thread to SSRI discontinuation syndrome? Specifically, the part where the symptoms are described as 'brain zaps'. This is something people discovered could happen after discontinuing an SSRI or SNRI antidepressant, and DXM is an SNRI ("SERT and NET blocker").

It's treated either by reducing the dose of the original drug slowly over time, or switching to something that blocks serotonin reuptake but wears off a lot slower than the original drug (usually Prozac). See the section on prevention and_treatment, for example.
