Why can't I go back on my notifications -?

I used to be able to scroll back on my notifications for pages and pages. Now it gives me the first page and nothing more even when I click the 'show all' button.

One of the things I do the most on here is key myself back into previous conversations by re-checking what I said and what others have said in response to me. Why is this now not working?!
 
Mine is showing 6 pages of notifications when I click show all. I thought it used to be more a couple years ago, maybe not though, but I'm seeing 6 pages and not only 1 page right now
 
i'm not sure i have a great answer here.

the guidance from xenforo says that "the alerts popup in xenforo 2.2+ typically displays a maximum of 25 alerts from the last 7 days". we are using xenforo 2.3.9 and, when i click "show all" on the alerts drop down, that is what i see. it appears to be working as expected.

they give a couple of things to try:
  • try clearing your local browser cache

  • clear the bl site cache (i have done this)

  • in the alerts drop down, click "Mark read" as "Sometimes a single stuck unread alert prevents the page from loading correctly"

  • try temporarily disabling all your browser extensions as an extension may be interfering
if none of that helps, i don't have another answer.

Alerts get auto cleared by a regular cron job. IIRC the default is 4 days. Perhaps it got changed by mistake. Alerts can also suffer from DB corruption and there were several changes to the system in the last few versions of the software. So maybe something went wonky during the last upgrades.
