I don't remember signing anything telling them they coud fuck with me whenever they wanted. Why do I have to listen? I'm just a human being that got born, I had no control over it, but now that I'm here, why are they allowed to tell me what to do? The government doesn't really exist except for in peoples' heads, as far as I'm concerned it has no bearing on my life whatsoever. You;ve got your ideas? Cool, but I've got my own, why are your ideas better than mine? Is it just because they are more powerful than me? Because they have bigger guns? That sounds like oppression, I'm not free to do as I please or else they'll imprison me? If I'm not allowed to kidnap someone, why is state-sponsored kidnapping justified?

Because it has power and can enforce its rules. It can't tell you what to do but it can punish you if you fail to comply.

"Why can the government tell me what to do?"

Cause your a bitch.

C'mon rambo, let's bring down the system!

when was the last time the government told you to do something and what was it?

The fact that you asked the question explains why the government can still tell you what to do. Your not educated enough to make the smart decision, thus the government is here to protect you from yourself.

If the government couldn't tell anyone what to do, we would have all the people that are meant to be in jail (rapists, murderer's, peto's, etc) walking the streets...think it throuhg, it's just the way the system works...

If I kill someone then the rest of society has the right to self-defense, they should do what they have to do to protect themselves. But where the fuck do they off telling me I can;t smoke a little pot?

^You're funny.

Boo fuckin hoo.

Drug laws do not make it impossible to score. It only means you have to work a little for it, and work it carefully. If it's not worth the hassle, then it aint that important, is it?

Because motherfuckers don't band together, rise as one and slay the assholes in control

It's the tyranny of dumbfucks

because we are borne into a sociaty where we have no choice but to move to the strings that pull us, in ways we see as not fair, yet ways we cannot escape from, where subliminal 'dumming down', exploitation, mass consummerism and brain washing through the media is as normal as brushing your teeth! what more can we do than seek out what comfort 'we so rarely actualy do find' in this psychological prison of a 'fashion, consumerist mindtrap hellhole sociaty' we call the 'sivilised/modern/free world' meerly names to blind us from the truth... you see, big brother is'nt meerly a coinsidental t.v. show, some media buffs have the cheek to give us a miniture version of what we actualy live in and the real sick joke is.... nobody notices.... we're 'already' living the bad ending of an action movie 'as it were' as, simply, the world has already been taken over by evil tyrants twisted horrably round world domination, control and money... staus anxiaty is the new driving force in this doomed 'worlds twist of existance round its own neck.... you asked why the gouvernment can control what you do, the sick truth is, the gouvernment have lost all controll these day to ,oil, mass food (McD's) and mass fashion industries ( nike, ck, adidas e.t.c) their the real problem.... were controled by them, as they need us to constantly 'want' there products in order for then to keep working, sadly.... we 'all fall for their shit to some degree'... well, the majoraty of us do... luckily some of us see it for what it is...... and **spread the word**......... :/

peace out.... x

ebola... u d' man............ :D

hit the nail un the head, but what are gun's 'literaly' fear and what does fear+ 'laws' (particular system of choices 'funnily mostly involving consumption or exchange of money for one of their stupidly overly charged goods') =?

its already staring you in the face... DUH!?.... control?

so guns = control, don't you realise they noticed this about 50 fucking years ago (not you ebola i blatantly know you'd notice, :) but for those less enlightened beings out there***) why do you think they invented the friggin A-bomb?!..........

Because the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few (or the one).

It's nothing to do with paranoia or control or power, although given certain world leaders, I can see the confusion. It's because society as a whole needs direction and focus in order to survive. It used to be simply about keeping the communal fire burning, but, whereas now the communal fire is world economy, the same commitment to common goals and surety of purpose is just as necessary, even though the tigers that will eat us in our sleep are much less tangible.

An unwritten social contract. Without this we have anarchy.
Read Hobbes Leviathan if you dislike the system now.

But the world economy itself entails a system of dominating power-relations. It is still about control, and in turn exploitation, but via the state, control and exploitation are dressed up and presented to us as "the communal interest."

Read it. It's garbage based on ethnocentric and naive anthropology.

heh...thanks. :)

I would agree that fear is involved, as is hegenomic consent (e.g., "what do you mean live without the state and market-capitalism? these things are outgrowths of human nature!"). The culture of consumerism (as properly cultivated by advanced advertising techniques) is a relatively recent advent, also needed to keep the system afloat.

Good responses so far. L2R and methchief, I know its obviously impossible to just overthrow the system just like that, but you at least need to acknowledge the problem for what it is.

The problem isn't that weed is illegal and "the man" frown upon it's cultivation, sale and use.

Fuck if you want to seriously talk of overthrowing the system, do it for a just cause. Hows about poverty or injustice?
