Why can I hold my breath for 2-3+ minutes on Adderall? Yet can't when I'm off it?

Why is it I can hold my breath for around 1 minute 30 seconds off Adderall

Yet, on Adderall, a stimulant, I can hold it 2 EASILY, 3+ if I relax enough

Hypothalamus or Medula Oblangata suppression or something? I'm confused.

P.S. I have to make myself breathe faster than my brain tells me to in order to not yawn, does that say something?

Edit: To the people telling me not to hold my breath... I'm kind of a betting person... I hold my breath longer than anyone else I know... So why not make money off it? lol

lmfao. this thread makes me laugh...

anyways, why does it matter? it definitely isn't safe to deprive yourself of oxygen, i suggest you forget about it and never hold your breath again, especially on adderall. your heart is already under enough stress...

Someone answer his question instead of telling him not to do it, I'm sure he knows its not a good idea. I have no idea why. I'm really curious.

Vasoconstriction in the lungs. Same reason that amphetamine used to be a decongestant, and why pseudoephedrine is used. Less blood in your lungs so there's more room for air. Also explains why you can smoke bigger hits on 2C-* and MDxx then when you're sober.

It's mediated by norepinephrine release causing activation of adrenergic receptors. Asthma meds do this as well.

Since this has been answered, I'm going to go ahead and close it. If anyone has a Harm Reduction-based reason to reopen, please send me a PM :)
