quick background i was lifting at home with plastic(cement filled) weights and dumbbells, a barbell and a bench. i can bench press 60-70lbs (yeah i know im huge
) at home for 8-10 reps but recently i got a gym membership because i needed more weight for my deadlifts so i do all my lifting at the gym now and i cant even do one rep for bench press at the gym at 60lbs. i had to lower it to 30lbs! to do my regular sets i would with 60-70lbs at home. i dont understand for all my other lifts i can do the same weight at the gym as at home but not the bench press. my guess is because the plates at the gym are of a different size and made of different material it could be the reason and the barbell itself is much heavier then the one i use at home...any idea whats going on?
