True.

I think the point the poster was more trying to make was it's more sensible to pay more. If you know the right people and you can get good coke that's maybe 50-75%, but it costs you £100/gram, it's still more sensible than paying £30/gram for coke that's going to be 10-15% pure.

Economies of scale.

The sad thing is, many many people would rather pay for an eighth of shit coke which will have less coke in it than if they were to just fork out for a gram of good coke.

I don't think that's strictly true. I'd agree that quality on the street is generally shite, but you certainly don't have to be banging the dons daughter to get a good high, it just takes a little patience and a little perseverance.

As for demand rises so quality has to drop ... again, I'm not sure I agree. Sure, short term, this might be the case. If a street dealer literally cannot get enough coke because his guy has underestimated how much to import, he might cut it with various types of caines to make sure he can keep supplying people, but eventually people get fed up of the shit stuff and just stop buying it until good stuff starts appearing again.

It was exactly the same with soap bar and grit weed in the UK. As soon as people realised they were smoking chunks of plastic in their hash, and their grass had glass sprayed on it, most people stopped buying it, and what do you know, soon enough there's decent hash, and lovely home grown weed flooding the market again.
 
Got clean coke in san Diego in in the mid 90s- a smooth and potent, not jittery high and a small line made half my face go numb- getting it for a while, new it was good b/c it rocked uo good, In San Jose I had some of the best coke. Got an 8-ball (1.8th oz). But it was slightly jittery and so potent it made my heart race and gave me palpitations/chest pains. However, whatever it was cut with tasted excellent. That almost gave it a connoisuer edge. The high was very good overall. It had a yellow tinge.

Anyway, the brits started the opium war. This is the coke revenge counterpart.

You sure it's not just that it's easier to smuggle coke from S. America to N. America than it is from S. America to Africa, then Europe, then the UK?

Sort of like why the price of ketamine, MDMA (or at least good MDMA containing pills) and cocaine is artificially inflated in Australia ...

Even so, if you're right, that'd be pretty awesome. From the Opium wars to the US War on drugs. I like that link.
 
when i score i go see a friend but it costs £100 for a full g. but the shit is the shit. as far as i am aware, until one day i get some better this is good enough for me, you get what you pay for with everything in life.
 
I have never understood how anyone on this Earth could afford cocaine. How can you brits afford 100 for a decent g? That's about $200 in American dollars, right? That's fucking nuts. Maybe that lasts me two nights if I don't go crazy and I never use coke, so I can't imagine the money spent by a heavy user of coke over there. That's just nuts to me.

Though I do want to join this super duper drug league friends club. Sounds pretty fuckin' sweet.
 
ATLL765, the people that sniff it all the time tend to know the right people and get better prices, or they have more money than sense, or they just sniff shit coke.

Heh I've noticed how in modern day UK literature and media it's almost cliche to have characters pop some E or snort coke.

ATLL-Coke must be cheap in the UK. I live in the U.S. but when I was a teenager and probably even still today there was A LOT of cheap coke in the area where I grew up. I'm not talking about the 70s or 80s either but the late 90s and early 00s. Even when I was away at a university in the middle of nowhere in a rural area you could find cheap coke there but I never used it.

The one time I used coke it was very potent, very good, and I had a very small amount of it as it was around and cheap at the time. Buddies of mine who were cokeheads who tried the same stuff said how it was very good coke.

I found coke to be VERY overrated but I loved the high way too much and I hated the crash, so I never used it again.
