Why are some doctors just so ignorant and staggeringly wrong (opioids)

So this wasn't even my GP, but a freaking SPECIALIST. Here are all the things he said in a 5 minute period:

1) He used the word "junkie"
2) "Dihydrocodeine is the same thing as codeine and the same strength"
3) "840mg DHC is the equivalent to 60mg Morphine"
4) "120mg Morphine is the equivalent to 90mg Methadone"
5) "Street Heroin is twice as strong as NHS (Pharmaceutical) Morphine"

I just....I...I...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but..

1) No professional should use that word
2) DHC is similar to, but different than Codeine, with different side-effects. It is also 2-2.5 times stronger depending on the individual
3) 840mg DHC is (roughly) the equivalent to 168mg Morphine
4) 120mg Morphine can be the equivalent of anywhere from 15-30mg Methadone, depending on the individual and dosage
5) NHS Heroin (Diamorphine) is twice as strong as NHS Morphine - Street Heroin is SIGNIFICANTLY weaker than NHS Morphine as it has been cut an average of 8-16 times before it reaches the user.

Honestly, this level of misinformation is frankly terrifying and could very well kill someone "Oh you take 120mg/day of oral morphine? He's a 90mg dose of Methadone"

Wow that could easily lead to a case of medical malpractice if they actually use that dosage range to convert someone and lead to them getting really messed up. As uppity and controlling as doctors can be, you really ought to say something to them. Bring in research and numbers too, this information is easily found on the internet.

Doctors here in the UK do think codeine and dhc are the same and that tramadol is somehow stronger than both.
Also have had people tell me in my reddit sub their gp downplayed their addiction to dhc saying you can't have withdrawal symptoms from just that.
The equivalent dosages are to be taken with a grain of salt as individual metabolism plays a big part so for example... I've never done more than 240mg of dhc at once and would get nice and noddy after taking that but 60mg of oral morphine is on par with that dhc dosage for me if not worse. According to equivalence charts 60mg of oral morphine should be much stronger than 240mg of dhc.
At the moment I do 60mg of oxy plus 20mg of morphine every 4 hours or so. Sometimes I do a little more morphine.
I felt nothing from a 50mcg fentanyl patch worn 3 days. Not even withdrawal relief. At the time I was doing 10mg of oxy only plus the morphine.
I find dhc is for me the one I can judge the effects of a certain dosage more reliably. I've switched to oxy purely because a box lasts me longer.

I've had many of thse, not quite as bad

"Naloxone is in suboxone so you cant inject it"
"Naloxone does not work sublingually"
"Shooting suboxone will give you precipitated withdrawals even without other opiates present"

And my personal favorite... "You cant be addicted to Etizolam, they only make it in India, so quit lying, kid, and tell me what's really going on"

On the bright-side, I sometimes would love a ghastly doctor like this. Hit me up with some potent dilauded the percocet 5 mgs are "too strong."
