Why are drugs hated so much in the U.S?

pssh i love drugs. i think they're hated because of the stigma associated with them. they have to keep up appearances with their friends/neighbors and think "drugs are bad" no matter what. or they turn on the tv and see a show about the destruction that drugs have caused in one or two people's lives and assume that happens to everyone who does a hard drug. my personal favorite is when the raging alcoholic looks down upon me for my heroin use when they're constantly driving intoxicated and i'm causing no harm to those around me. i don't know those are just the first things to pop into my head.

There is no education on the subject. They don't teach you the pharmacology of the drugs, all they teach about is the adverse effects and use the worst example of a person they can find and say you'll end up like this if you use drugs. They label people that use drugs as bad people and if you use you will go to prison or die. You aren't going to stop drug use. Ever. So lets at least educate our kids about them correctly so if they do use (which they most likely will at some point) they wont die. It's time to go about things the right/safe way.

I've noticed over the years the hate for a lot of drugs has gone down through proper education over the interent. It feels good to know kids are wising up , able to research properly themselves and are not having to just listen to what DARE chooses to say.
