Opioids Why am I withdrawing now?

So some back ground I was a daily iv opiate use for about a year doing on average 8 to 16mg of dilaudid or some other opiate( tar morphine oxy etc.) well we all know we can't stay high forever and there would of course be times where I would be both broke and dry. But despite my use, I never really felt like I would kick. Like it was never really that bad. Don't get me wrong I would for sure be feigning for it but I didnt seem to get nearly as sick as some of my friends would

Fast forward to today. I had been clean for over a year until last week when I picked up 3 points of some above average tar. Now I i did this stuff in two shots over the course of 24 hours. Well next day I woke up and my muscles ached, I was sweating, nauseas and just felt like straight shit. It flat out sucked.

Now why did this happen to me all of the sudden? Will this continue to happen every time I use or do you think it was just a one time thing?

P.S. I used to think us Opiate users were just a bunch of winy bitches but if that what my friends were goin thru when they were sick then hats off to them for being such troopers.

Well, as they say, the more you do opioids, the harder the withdrawals hit you, or at least, it certainly never gets any easier. I used to be able to use as much opioids as I wanted and tolerate WD just fine, but that steadily declined to the point, especially with opana, of waking up every morning in withdrawals.

That is rather odd, perhaps it's a heroin hangover rather than actual WD? For not using for quite a while that was a pretty decent chunk to do

I also used to think that people strung out were being whiny when they complained about being since since I had yet to experience it. Once I went through it I understood. Some are definitely more whiny than others though.

That's what I was thinking.

Nothings worst then waking up every-goddamn-morning in withdrawals, back sore and eyes bugging out. I can't believe I don't feel like this anymore thanks to subs :) .
It's honestly really weird feeling waking up not in WD for once and feeling decent.
I really still love opiates and all drugs of all sorts but the terrible sickness isn't worth the temporary high.
But I still got my stash of oxy and others for a lonely night sometime ;)

It was mentioned above, but it might just be the heroin hangover. When I've been clean for a while, other than subs, and I binge on heroin like the OP mentioned, I get a nasty hangover the next day. Massive headache, nausea, aches. It feels a lot like a bad migraine. After half a day, lots of fluids, some naproxen and excedrine, it usually subsides. If I stay on and do more opiods for a longer period of time or keep my doses low, then I don't get the hangover.

It's kind of like instant WD, but not nearly as long or agonizing.

Opiate hangover. Maybe
I get nausea and sweats the next day if I'm too clean and get nice and high. My history of use is 2 yrs with 6mo IV use. Highest at a gram of powder a day IV, or a couple g's sniffed before that, and I'm from Toronto so it's about 30% pure powder.

Could also be your body now experiencing PAWS and the recent opiate use reminded your body to "oh, let's hit him with PAWS now..." lol...

I have never experienced any hangover from a run on heroin. I gave heroin a try for one year. I never became "hooked". I have a severe chronic pain problem. I think among severe pain patients that we get more pain relief than euphoria because severe pain is still present even under the influence but the pain is much reduced and one feels more normal. Without any severe pain stimuli the effects go more towards euphoria. I have IV'ed 80 mg Oxycontin many times and never experienced a hangover.
When it comes to street heroin, especial tar, I think that is crude and not refined very well and you also do not know what was used to cut it.
I've seen Mexican Tar heroin cut with instant coffee and vinegar to simulate black tar heroin. My guess is that it was the impurities and not the heroin itself which gave you a hangover. We see almost no powder heroin in my region where the supply is from Mexico. With powdered drugs almost anything may be used to cut it. 30% pure, if true, is very good for street level but that other 70% could contain many possibly unpleasant contaminants.
I don't think you would have any hangover from using pure forms of opiates.
I do make a distinction between withdrawal symptoms and acute hangover symptoms.

do you also take speed? I used to take alot of adderall (300mg or so) and it seemed like nomatter how many oxies i was on the worse i would get was mild flu-like symptoms but now that i no longer take stims the withdrawals seem alot worse idk maybe its cause ive been using longer.

Speaking for myself and not the OP, I only used coke with or without H.
Coke can overcome H but of course the coke doesn't last nearly as long. Never tried meth during this time.
Before the year I used H, I had plenty of coke and discovered while on mushrooms a snort of coke would breakthrough the mushrooms easily but as it wore off the mushrooms reasserted themselves. I had coke by the kilo back circa 1980 so it was about as good as it could be.
Street level was too weak and far from my circle.
