Who's your favorite "Fucked Up", "Stoned Out" "Totally Wasted" songwriter?

Garcia wrote the music to most of the songs he sang in, but never wrote any lyrics for the band, he and Hunter had some great synergy

same goes with bob weir

and Robert Hunter is a genius, gotta love the no bullshit lyrics

Nas, I love listening to him when i'm stoned, high on andy drug, except maybe ecstascy, then I like more "mainstream" rap, cuz of the beats.

eminem in his early days. the slim shady lp and the marshal mathers lp.. they always made me laugh and the shit he came up with always made u rewind it n be like "what the fuck?! did he seriously just say what i thought he said??" lol

i can't believe nobody mentioned this man in 8 pages of replies. KIETH RICHARDS. he co-wrote many of the songs for the rolling stones and sang with mick jagger in many of them too. He is a truly forever fucked up legend, from heroin to alcohol presently in his 60's. and props to the few people that mentioned the Man in Black, Mr. Johnny Cash.

Anton Newcombe
Jimi Hendrix
Grace Slick
that dude from Orange Alabaster Mushroom
whoever wrote the shit for Strawberry Alarm Clock
c'mon guys, Ian Anderson?

The Doors rule, Morrison is pretty good, but how come there's little mention of Grace Slick, Ian Anderson, Anton Newcombe? Even Hendrix I havn't seen much of a mention of (besides his name in about type 50 font)...
For me, you can't go past Grace Slick, I don't think there's a thing that she's written that I don't like.

Kiedes / Frusciante

definitely agree w/ you there- imo, BSSM was their best work ever, and while AK may have been clean at the time Fru certainly wasn't and he was fucking brilliant!

in that vain, Hillel Slovak must not be forgotten (never was especially famous, but damn he could play guitar!)

hank williams sr. dont think im a hick but tht dude was fucked up hooch to his years like a true rockstart died choking on his own puke in the back of a cadillac on the way to a show fucks yeah!!! romantic image right??

let's be a complete cliché and say Bob Marley.
