Yeah, Pig (aka Raymond Watts) is known to be quite fond of his drink.

Since we are now talking about artists being really fucked up at performances, Chino Moreno of the Deftones has to top this list. I saw a show where took a page out of Jim Morrison's book and literally did not stand up for abut 90% of the performance; he laid on the stage moaning his lyrics. This was actually a big disappointment for me, as it was my first time seeing the Deftones (one of my favorite bands), and was such a bad performance. This was about 6 years ago and I have still yet to catch them whenever they tour. I will eventually, I swear. :)

Alice in chains lyrics were also way better than nirvana. if i wanted to hear a whiney bitch who cant control himself or do anything about it but whine and complain some more, who sucks at playing music and writing lyrics, and every song sounds the same, i would just go to some shitty-ass indie emo club and choke on pabst blue ribbon, you dont need nirvana for that.

AIC had more complex shit lyrcally and didnt always center on one thing and their music itself had some mad good harmonies and interesting shit goin on with it, A LOT more goin for it than nirvanas 3-chord crap. at least when the "cant play much more than power chords and cant write lyrics" kids first came around they did it with a little fire in em back in the punk rock days but damn kurt cobain was boring as fuck. suicide and depression aint exciting cool intriguing things to people who been thru em. if he didnt kill himself hed be playing at the stone pony tryna make beer money for the night tryna still get a lil bit of mileage outta his washed-up faded-out carreer.

Layne staley was a much better singer than kurt too as far as vocal quality goes.
 
well ok in terms of "fucked up"... what I'm listening to now! SYL! Devin Townsend! ONe fucked up guy, spewing loads of ear candy from his belly!

How can you put Layne Stayley over Kurt Cobain? Cobain wrote nearly all of Nirvana's songs and played guitar. Stayley shared the song writing with jerry cantrell and was nly a singer.

Cobain may have written all of his songs but that doesnt mean they had any talent, they obviously had some talent im not disputing that but they are over-rated.

mudhoney was kinda cool. but they were not as good as soundgarden.

have you ever listened to Badmotorfinger or Superunknown? (their 2 best albums)

i'm talking actually listened to the whole album and not just the 3 or 4 songs that they played on the radio...

Phil claims he is clean from everything in the last interview I read with him (including anti-depressants and scripts)....never can be sure though with the kid
 
so what the hell is he going to write about then? his drug relatd lyrics are some of the best lyrics ive ever heard.
