Yeah. Todd Terry was more proto-tech house.

To get back on topic I don't have a favorite producer or DJ. There is such a mountain of good material to peruse and enjoy. Why bother limiting yourself to just one or two artists?

He was one of the pioneers, and he should be venerated as such.

So much subtlety and class.
 
Tracker music, chiptune music is the way to go even for dance music. This is the place where you can locate all the rare gems of electronic music these days.

My favs are Jester, Elwood, Wayfinder.

what I don't like about the term "EDM" is that it is in my opinion a blanket term invented by the music industry to sell.

luckily it has nothing to with the music I love, play and make. if you say you like "techno", even nowadays you know that a lot of people will have a very wrong impression of what techno is (or can be).

Idk about nerds. I just associate the term EDM with the younger generation of electronic music lovers (PLUR and kandi stuff). I dont fault them for enjoying what they do, just not my style. I said house and techno because that is in my mind as broad as I can make it with still differentiating how distinct the music we love can be.
