Most of my efforts with the new camera have been very amateurish, but I like this one:

Taken at Cooks River (not too far from Sydney Airport - near the adventure playground for those who know it)

The scan isn't the best quality...
:\
VERY ME, I DIG IT> couldnt tell you why?:\ :)

I've got so many truely brilliant photos of people (most who I don't know) at the world cup and beyond, but I'll feel bad posting them on site like this. I'm not too sure how to approach it, perhaps a deletion after a week or two could suffice?

Thanks da grey area :)

shnouzer... I really like the first one of yours. The texture of the piano is gorgeous!

Also: guys can I just ask you to either resize large pics before posting, or just put the link as it stuffs up the formatting of the page.

^ it was mr horse!

but yeah, the piano one is awesome. it's almost half way between a photo and a painting for me.

i'm getting so frustrated at only having a camera phone....i think i need to buy a small sized but relatively high mp digi cam or just a small film camera. oh the decisions. :\

i like the depth of film more, but as i am a fairly spontaneous photographer, you can't beat knowing how the photo turns out.

plus i like cybershots :\.

Here's a few of my photographic favs from Germany. Words cannot describe how amazing the full A4 print comes out of my Epsom R800 printer, the colours are so amazing... even for digital!

Some happy German fans at the Brandenberg gates in Berlin.

I like this one because there is the lone Mexico fan who is in focus in the middle of the picture and is not celebrating the Portugal win, but is not down hearted because of the world cup atmosphere.

An Aussie supporter passionately singing at the Australia v Crotia game.

IMG_1755-vi.jpg

A partiotic Kraut supporter kisses the Deutsche flag. :)

IMG_1762-vi.jpg

Most people were pretty clueless when I handed a fully pre-set digital SLR camera to them for my photo, this was not one of those occassions. =D

IMG_1487-vi.jpg

After going one nil down to Brazil and with Australia still doing a lot of attacking, the Aussie fans eagerly watch on and yet look quitely confident that we won't conceed a second.

Patriotic Australians embrace each other whilst some classic Anthems are being played in the Kaiserslauten market courtyards after the victory over Japan.

Thanks for the compliments, I love photography.

There are many more in the WC thread, unfortunately because of the nature of this website
I haven't put up any photos of young aussies celebrating. PM me if you want a link to the
photo albums online.

I went to specatular Norway after the WC, but landscape photos aren't nearly as interesting
as people photos. Having said that, I'll do it at some stage when I a get a spare minute.
Right now I am puting my photo album together and it's taking an enternity. :)

Thanks all,

For those that want to know the camera is a Canon 350D digital SLR. But don't let the camera brand or model throw you. It's more the lens, the time of day of the photo, a wee bit of luck (like the lone mexican photo) and being in the right location.

The world cup was just a place of so much colour, vibrancy and happiness that it made made it so much easier to create a kodak moment. So one could have created the same shot with a far cheaper camera without much visible difference.

^wicked photos, especially the 'lone mexican'.

What lens are you using?

The lens used in these 5 photos is a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8. It's one of Canons cheapest lenses, you can by them for around $150.

^ I like the second one, is that using a filter or in-built sepia in the camera?

Some ones of younger aussies who I don't know (so they'll only be up for a short time). They are all from the one crazy day when we beat Japan 3-1.
