Some Council estates are real shit places, the one I used to live on had 1,500 people on it in such a small area & of course some are real crime hotspots & don't really have the best of people living there but some people are damn snobs when they have a view on social housing.

The woman I am with now when we first got together used to be really scared to come visit me & I would have to go meet her off the bus as she didn't want to walk around the estate by herself, she felt more safe in my company as I knew all the shotta's etc there (most of 'em I scored off myself)

As I said before I used to live with BHM in a skyrise block on the 13th floor, it was a real dump but the view was amazing, I used to love go outside on the balconey & watch the world go by & you could see for miles, the best was when a storm came, as you were so high you could have an amazing view of the thunder & lightning, everything has it's good points I guess plus one of my ex dealers lived on the 11th floor & we were on the 13th so when he turned off for the night I had nearly 24/7 access to him & didn't mind serving me at 7am when he woke up :)

Brigton was on 11th floor Proddy area paint the kerbstones re white n blue :\ but u can see Celtic park from the window A 100 million£ Stadium for a catholic footy team !!!

The Pigs sent a Celtic fan through brigton n he was stabbed to death for wearinga green polo shirt !!

The way back to town is straight down London RD. To the Barrowlands famous for this they did an early gig there n McGee signed em .

aanyway so the pigs sent a catholic to his death l PTCH will tell ya about brigton n Cazi n The BiG Man lived there but they were scots i am half scot half taf but speak like a farmer with a gansta lean so i was treading on thin ice .

The Woman who i was with saved me from a stabing . I asked a family for a fag , didn't realise they were all dressed in black , Funeral omg She just grabbed me n said " ya fukin idjeet "

Average age of living is 55 i think . Sold the big Issue on Bath st. how ironic they gave u 10 free ones in glasgie . Boy said get ta fuk in an hour if your still here i'll stab ya !!

It was by 2 cash points a pukker pitch , i shat meself went n seen these street folk that were skooling me told em what had happened ( clucking ) had £6 n they said stand yer ground cos it's all camera's i did n the cunt never came back . took me n my friend 3 hours to find the
"wee guy with the red bonnet" cos he had the top tak up there back then it was strong . i rekon 50 % cos the runners couldn't dip it or they would end up in the clyde wearing concrete Nikes .

Organised criminals that do the taxi firms . Run it give a wee guy 100 bags say they want £800 back@ the end of the day . swap guys all the time n lasses .

!st time i went to the flat with M...... she said there is the phone box in case i go over 8(

Fun times ;) looking back learnt a lot about survival fuk Bear grylls he wouldn't make it on the st.s of Glasgow with a habit :D

I didn't know whether to pick owner - fully paid up or owner - still paying mortage because I've paid off my two main residences but have a few others on a low interest mortgage for rent purposes.

Therefore I picked fully paid off.

Jesus, there seems to be a few property magnates on EADD. I was all for it at first. The bank eould have offered me 3 times what i needed, i could have bought 3 houses. Tbh im glad i didnt, i doubt if the extra stress of it all would be worth any wealth i might have accumulated by playing Monoply and buying three £30,000 houses. A free grand every month rental income though. i still have second thoughts. That boat has sailed now, and ive since adopted the approach that klife is to be enjoyed, and not spent fretting about meeting mortgage poayments.

This is a shit poll.

Privately renting on a council estate, so none of those. Planning on downsizing at some point and moving to somewhere with decent night buses, though.

Nah it's a good pol. Good indication of who I'd want to meet in real life. For example, if brimz had said before let's meet up I'd have probably said yes, but due to his poll answer I'm not so sure anymore, might be putting myself in danger.

Can't beat good night buses for convenient, dirt-cheap travel. Regular night buses, obviously. Not just one scary 3am bus packed out with aggressive / amorous / incapacitated drunks.

Aye.. my last night bus runs at 2:50am, and even then it's a 20 minute walk home from the bus stop, so I often just end up getting a taxi.

Drunks on buses are okay at that time, though.. they're usually falling asleep anyway.

I usually rent flats or small houses (the whole damn place, fuck house shares - I want the kitchen and bathroom to myself when I need it! Plus, whilst I'm not really antisocial I like to socialise on my terms and enjoy my own company just as much...) but am currently living with parents whilst I recover from surgery, at least I will be when I'm discharged!

Not quite sure how I should vote in this, Private Flat I suppose :)

Been in a council flat for 5 yrs, cant complain about the area but it's keeping housing benefit running every 2 fucking weeks when I have to convince drs I need a sickline that stresses me out to fuck ! Constant worry of losing it plus 2 grand arrears for when I had a buckshee job and never even gave rent a second thought :!

HA all the way for me! I did have a mortgage once, but when I lost my job I was in constant fear of losing my house too. Plus it needed a lot of expensive work doing on it which I couldn't afford because I was too busy trying to pay the mortgage. When we had our daughter, my Mrs told the council we had split up so she scored lovely HA place on benefits. Meanwhile, I put my house up for sale, made 60 grand profit then moved in with her. All maintenance and repairs free of charge. Now I'm working again, the rent is admittedly more than the mortgage was, but we still get regular work done fer nowt (we're just about to get a new roof). We would be financially sorted now if we had'nt spunked all my house profit on a 2 year smack & crack bender...

Fucking hell, that's fucked up beyond all recognition :) you spunked £60k in two years 8o

I've probably spent £2-3,000 on drugs in that last couple of years and that frightens me.

Mind you I'm sure I've spent around £3k on booze in one year, maybe more.

Yeh, it makes me sick when I think about it, especially as the Mrs was on full benefits and I was working full time! Still, It's not that unusual when you're in the grip of full blown heroin & cocaine addiction. I did manage to buy myself a classic British bike though, so it wasn't all wasted (unlike myself) :)

I got through about 10 grand in the first few months of this year. Id had years and years of nothing breaking or fuckin up. Then all of a suden everything started fucking up; tv, washing machine, car, doors falling off their hinges, pc dessk drawwers fucked up, new Win 7 computer (still not fixed) My drugs habits were pretty heavy at that point too, so i was fdalling over a lot and also breaking and loosing a lot of stuff. I once fell over backwards and cracked my head on the TV stand. Coul;d have killed me. I must have a good thick head on me.

Congrats on being a Homeowner , i live in a lovely area btw . I have lived in some dangerous places in the past but it was character building

See MDB, I collapsed forward onto the TV. We all make mistakes. Dosing ones. GHB is your friend.

To the thread title - not me.

Why is squatting not part of the poll? Does nobody squat now? I squatted for years. Well, about five.

I like the idea of squatting but I think I like home comforts a bit too much.

I did the maths the other day and between myself and my fella we've given our landlord about £36k. Starting to think that my parents aren't that intolerable after all. :/
