so before i started rolling, i used to like some techno, or so i called it. used to call any electronic music techno. but since iv started rolling and getting into that crowd iv grown to love many diff genres of electronic music.

one of my favs being dubstep. i actually have a m audio midi keyboard, reason 4 software, and a nice mac that i dabble making my own dubstep/electronic/and other random beats.

anyone else love dubstep? if so what songs? ill post some of my favs if anyone shows any interest.

let me know what ya guys think!

edit: i have most of the songs you guys have listed. and ablelink you have reason too? nice song. very good for your first one, i really like it.

btw imo you should give that snare some eq. seems like it could be a tad louder. already sounds like you added some nice reverb on it.

while making dubstep i usually layer my snares with a mid range snare, and a clap, and also sometimes a bit of white noise sort of like a pshhhh or a ksshhh. if you layer your snares then add a bit of eq and reverb and turn it up a bit. you get some very punchy snares that dubstep needs

Alright so here is my experience. I always liked dubstep, but it was my second choice to music such as house and electro. Then one day when I went to a magical 2 day event in my area a few months back, that all changed. I was "drawn" to a stage after I came up where the music sounded foreign, but oh soooo good. I was in a trance, eyes closed, head going all the way back and forward, and it seemed I could NEVER PREDICT what noise was going to come next. Every drop left me grabbing my head going, "WHAT THE FUCK" and it was the best night of my life ever. After about 20 minutes of this I finally realized, this is DUBSTEP

since that day I have been in love with it and its pretty much all I listen to and easily my favorite genre

As a self titled DUB HEAD, I think you will all like my taste in dub. Check out my top 3 tunes!!

WhiskerTwister - Fucking Cunt (Anything by them at all is amazing, easily my favorite dubstep act and they are very underground)
PAINTyRAID - Enter the Machine
Zed's Dead - White Satin

Guarantee you will love em

dubstep cant truly be appreciated until its being pumped out of a massive rig with enough bass to blow you apart :D

So you n00bs know there's a whole forum dedicated to electronic music discussion, right?
In fact there's a huge dubstep thread in there.

well it also has to do with how ecstasy lead me to dubstep so its relevant.

plus i like to post in the ecstasy forum where i mostly am in. plus most of the kids in this forum usually do ecstasy, lsd, and ketamine. where usually if you like dubstep you like those drugs lol

Dubsteps weak. No emotion, no rhythm. They ruin good dnb stages with dubstep.

no rhythm? dubstep has insane rhythm with syncopated beats and triplets. actually the percussions are much more complex than house or any other electronic music.

and it does have emotion you just have to appreciate it. i realize some people dont like dubstep but to go ahead and say it has no rhythm or emotion is just crazy talk. i could show you some dubstep songs with so much emotion. especially some scary dark sounding ones, but none the less...emotion.

dont get me wrong im a fan of dnb but all of the percussions sound identical. im beatboxing it right now lol

Ive heard every dub tune there is, i can show dubheads tracks they never heard but love. So i know my dubstep. NONE compares to proper dnb. Put it this way the only two genres that survived the 90's are house and dnb. If they lasted 20+ years its probably cause they are great. On mdma dubstep is annoying, no rhythm no emotion. In a dub room peole are head bobbing natural faces in dnb room peoples faces are puckered there jaw is poking out and there mouth is going nuts, because IMO dnb makes u roll hard. Listeners wear the emotion on there bodys.
