Who is your "god"?

What does this mean? If it's the same as (you're all saying it wrong) /thread then you're wrong. This thread is far from over. I still haven't finished Christian gods and hardly got into social/nature gods. As well as Shiva. I have barely described my own personal god.

And hardly anyone has given any perspective on any form of god except a few small posts about some cultural aspects, and a few large ones about "There is no god" which is only arguable if you are talking about god as a person, entity. And not as a part of culture as this thread is designed to :D

Don't engage the spoilsports, and they'll eventually take off.

I have actually speculated on the form of God, when I mused about an enormous computer or thinking organism. But I think the form of God is not something any of us will ever be privy to. Whatever higher power there is, we're the blind men and he/she/it is the elephant -- some of us may have a few things right, but none of us has got anything close to a sense of the whole thing.

I'm drunk as hell right now, so excuse my typing, I'll try my best...
Listening to to Future Sound of London, if anyone remebers that group.

@ ShaggyFin...
Did you read my poem above?
I heard your plea so now I'm coming correct...

I beleive that the universe is One entire peice.
Not atoms or molecules, but one singular entity.
"I am you and you are me."
"Mitakuye Oyasin"
An old Lakota Indian saying.

If you must know what I believe...

Names and numbers are meaningless.
There is Only One person.
God.
God is experiencing "Everything."
She is All.
This sounds crazy, but there is...
All of infinity. And only One.
It's like, if there were no particles, no atoms, no cells.
God would be the "Complete," Absolute, the All.

This has given me "Great" peace in life.
I used to be Hindu and was a devout Shivaite.
But it only goes so far.
When you realize you're talking to yourself, thats the breakthrough.
I Am myself. No one else.
There is only here, and there. Which is actually "Nowhere." :)
Did you read my poem??? Above.

I feel that God is, a direct entity. In that. She is here only to experience what "I AM" experiencing.
You are me and I am you.
ONE!
It is all connected. Just like an atom. the neucleus is whole. We are whole :)
You see what I see. Divided by Time.
It is a mystery.
Unity.
But perfect.
Live in the perfection :)
I'm wayyyyy too drunk.
Ahhhh... Sunday...
Listen to me.
There is nothing that you have to do.
Nothing that you have to be.
You are perfect, just how you are!
And I love you. Because you are!

I will be quiet now.

Namaste,
Psycle

P.S. Read my poem above, it works wonders :)

I understand your point about "the universe is one", I personally feel like we are not just part of some (to put it simply) other beings "dream".

And you misunderstood the meaning of Shiva worship.
You do not "speak" to anyone, so when you "realized you were talking to yourself" that doesn't make any sense.
The point of "Shiva" worship is to try to understand the cultural aspects of Cannabis, Fatherhood, Animals, Masculinity, etc. And how they effect society :D
Not to pray to some blue man in the sky, lol.

Wow...

He "Is" Blue... :)

I dont see any rules or order in my life.
There is a sect of Hinduism, that prescribes itself as "Nath"
"Nath" means there is No Law, no order, no right way.

I do not pray, I do not ask. Because the answers lie within myself.
I Am the source. You are the source.
Shiva was a mystery to me. But when I worshipped him, I found great peace.
It is only now that I see, there is only me. I Am the source. I Am the One.

And truthfully, I feel that is what Shiva wants. He wants us to "Feel" One.
To realize One.

I dont beleive in "Labels" It is all up to the Individual.
Your Interpretation is just as good as mine.
What you see, I See.
You are me :)

So I am comfortable just being myself.

I Love you just how you are.
Simple.

I AM the person I was made to be, no one else.
Perfection.

Namaste :)

I completely understand. That just means you have a different "pantheon" of phenomenon that are important to you. I am Rudra-Shiva. I see those aspects of society most in my life and self. I feel that Shiva represents me and the things I do, and therefore is my "god".

I'm glad you understand. :)

It would not matter, if you did not understand though. I would still be glad.
Your way of understanding is beautiful, as all Faiths are beautiful.

The beauty of religion and spirituality, is that it can be seen so many different ways.
Shiva is a mighty God. If not the mightiest, in my opinion.

I do feel that everything is an illusion though, and therefore "Unreal."

I bask in the light of the Highest high, that inumerable, inconceivable, infinite high.

Our consciousness is one with infinity.
Here, is there.

Shiva is a good God to have. :)

Namaste everyone,

Psycle

Everything may be illusion. But certain things still exist (like creation and destruction). And if we are to ever to escape the illusion we must use Shiva. Shiva is not just Cannabis and Fatherhood. Shiva is the god of destruction. BUT Destruction is nothing but a form of creation, example: If we were to "destroy" our illusions and "break" through into true reality. That would creation of a new "space" or "realm" while destroying the old one. Just like "Out with the Old, In with the New." That is "Shiva" or "Destructive-Creative power". Another Example is Cannabis Use. To experience the chemical message of the plant, you must destroy it. Through fire, it is destroyed as new things are created through its destruction. It's all beautiful really. Eastern Cultures don't see Good/Bad & Black/White. Everything is simply 2 sides of the same coin to them. Without a concept of Peace there is no War, without a concept of War there is no Peace.

Your concepts are quite beautiful. And line up with mine in alot of respects.
This has been a good conversation no?

I too used to worship the destructive aspects of Shiva. When I was a Shivaite.
I always found them very life giving. And Mother Kali, Shiva's consort, always comforted me, in ways so pure, yet very destructive.
She at one time helped me overcome my fears of death and condemnation.

When I say everything is an "Illusion" I'm being quite extreme actually.
To me, all of the illusions of life are our glorious and very best tools.
For without them, there would be nothing at all to believe in.
If everything is "Seen" as fake, and unreal, then what really could we dream or imagine, or entertain ourselves with?
So it is the way of human nature to avoid drifting off, by holding onto something solid, and "Real."

Yes. Out with the Old, In with the New.
There is no creation without destruction.
There is no peace, without war.
There is no life, without death.
The Inbreath, and the Outbreath, of God.

I think we are more alike, me and you, than we might imagine as of now.
I've really enjoyed this conversation, and your articulations are perfect.

Ahhh... Sigh...

Shiva is great.
"Bom Shankar."

It would benefit me to be more down to earth, and take up a serious pantheon of my own.
But I haven't found one that fits.

Getting rid of the illusions, is a very very foolish thing to do. Ever heard of Ego death?
We need these illusions to continue living, and to continue creating.
If they were gone, life would be somewhat meaningless.

I also want to add to you, that you are correct in everything you say.
Your way of thinking is perfect and without a single flaw.
I am very glad to have met you ShaggyFin, and it is nice to strech my wings with you and contemplate the higher things.
I hadn't found a good place to do that until I joined Bluelight :)

I wanna take your advice and get out in nature more often.
I too have heard the sound, deep in the forest.
Like a "Magnetic" hummmmmmmmm, that comes from the pure Earth.

There's no reason for us to argue, I am quite insane actually, and I've realized that "My ways," are a little too complicated for others.
But people still take interest for a while.

Maybe we will have more to talk about...

Anyways, been nice for now :)

Namaste

Aum Namah Shivaya.

Wise words. Beautiful post. <3

What if.. there is only one omnipotent and omniscience being. (God) I do agree with your belief of that the entire universe is part of God's living body. The fact that you stated that we are nothing more to him then dry, flakey skin...seems something unimaginable. Why would a entity create us in his/her/it image and then when we die not care about us at all? I feel that the one God is always with you, no matter what you possess of good or evil, and will walk with you until your final moments of life are at last upon you, still with you after you leave your physical body behind. I feel that the entire universe must be created by love. Would you rather choose between living with a gardner or a cereal murder? Hopefully the gardner because we all want to live in a world that is created by peace, a heaven on Earth if you will. What I'm getting to is that God is love.. and that is what God wants us to share and live by.

I don't think he created us any more than we created our skin cells. We "create" new skin all the time. But we NEVER even notice.

Just so I understand you fully, God has no attention of us whatsoever?

Infants die. Dictators slaughter. Bombs burn flesh. Guns travel the world. Oil drives war. Money rules all. Religion is the only possible saving grace, but the Vatican is nothing more than a place to store gold... If god is watching us, he's a sick fucker.
