Hello recently I have been prescribed Xanax and Ativan for anxiety and sleep disorder. Long story short, the suite that I've moved into recently had a punch of meds left in a dresser drawer. One of them was BusPar. (it was Expired on 06/2016 so I felt it was safe to take)
So this morning I decided to take 0.75 mg of Xanax orally, 1 mg ativan sublingually, and then a few hours later took 20 mg of Buspirone.
Now, Ativan I find to be a very suble medication. Basically it is a perfect anti-anxiety med for me, I don't get high or buzzed or drunk or anything I just feel clear headed and calm. So then I pop 3/4 mg of Xanax to get that light buzz and slight drunkenness feeling. I researched the Buspar, apparently it is an anti anxiety unlike a benzo. It seems to be also prescribed for depression which I may nor may not have.
Anyway, it's been a little over an hour since I popped the Buspar and I definitely feel a drunk feeling kind of, but that may be the Xanax finally kicking in as I ate during when I took the pills. I'm also about half way through a 40 oz of 8% beer.
So the point of this post is, does anybody here have a familiar / same experience with this combo of medications and alcohol? I'm not worried about my health or anything I'm just curious to see what kind of experiences you've had with this.
I'm really calm and relaxed right now, very clear headed (hence why I'm writing this post..) but I wonder if any one has had any adverse effects, especially from repeated use of this? I don't drink very often and especially not with other drugs/meds. But I feel like this combo of Xanax/Buspar/Ativan really keeps me stable and calm. When I go see my doctor next month I'm not sure if I should bring up Buspar and now I feel that the combination of these meds may be exactly what I need at the moment while my life has become so stressful.
